Title: Logic Probe Post by: bytestorm on January 09, 2012, 04:00:48 PM Hi everyone!
I am looking for a nice logic probe, and is thinking about this one: http://se.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?qs=WZYOKEqGBpLLUYwELbGxTA%3d%3d (http://se.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?qs=WZYOKEqGBpLLUYwELbGxTA%3d%3d) B&K Precision DP-21 Since I newer owned a logic probe before, I dont know what to look for in the specs... Any tips? Title: Re: Logic Probe Post by: channelmaniac on January 13, 2012, 01:50:10 AM Skip that one.
Get one with audio capabilities. Title: Re: Logic Probe Post by: stayouttadabunker on January 13, 2012, 02:04:38 AM Skip that one. Get one with audio capabilities. I agree with channel :89- ...that way you hear the little "beep, beeps" sounds instead! :71- Title: Re: Logic Probe Post by: channelmaniac on January 13, 2012, 02:08:14 AM You can take a good board... listen to the signals... then go to a bad board and hear the differences - especially between a clean hi/low alternating signal and a dirty one from a bad chip that isn't reaching the proper logic levels.

I do agree with raymond. The logic probes are used in ALL industries. There are some really "smart' ones available nowdays. Handy tool when needed. B.

From what i can see on youtube, this one has sound capabilities.. hmm but there also is one version 51 of the same brand.. dunno the difference thou :( Title: Re: Logic Probe Post by: stayouttadabunker on January 13, 2012, 05:52:20 PM I went to the B&K Precision.com website.
None of their Logic Probes have audio capabilities - though it wouldn't not be hard to throw in a small piezo speaker inline with the LEDs. :79- Title: Re: Logic Probe Post by: poppo on January 13, 2012, 06:02:27 PM I know for a fact the one they sold at Radio Shack (Micronta) has audio (since I have one). The catalog # is 22-303 but it's not shown on-line. Some stores may still have them though.
Here is one of the RS ones e-bay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/300648779699 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/300648779699) |
