Title: Games of Nevada Draw Poker Video Poker Machine
Post by: cbonfanti on January 18, 2009, 09:57:37 PM
I have a Games of Nevada Draw Poker Video Poker machine that is basically dead except for the florescent lights on the door.  I do hear an electronic high pitched noise coming out of the speaker when I turn it on.  The monitor is dead along with the player's buttons on the door, they do not light up at all.   I do not see anything blown on the motherboard, when I further examined it top side and underside.  Upon closer examination of the motherboard, I noticed that some of the proms had a "leg" here and there that were sticking out from the connector.  I straightened them out and reinserted them so all the "legs" or connectors are in the corresponding positions.  Since this machine was purchased at a garage sale for only $25.00, it never worked from the time it was aquired so I am unsure exactly what the problem could be.  Any idea where to start with this project?  The machine is not mine, it is a friends and I'm just trying to help him out.

The motherboard has the following information on it:  290026-000300.  The game chips are:  95-712-500 and 95-713-104.  I have found only two fuses in the whole cabinet and they both look fine.  Since I am getting "juice" for the fluorescent lights on the door, the transformer should be fine?  There are two smaller transformers, but I think they have to do with the fluorescent lightling.  Any ideas.

Thanks,

A Picture might help us better identify the platform. It is sounding like a Fortune 1.
Its possible that the monitor is at issue and not the game. The high pitched whine could easily be the monitor, this sound is common when the main power transistor fails.
You typically would not get any lights on the buttons until you put some coins in it. If its got a coin in TILT or some other fault, even a hopper empty the machine won't accept coins.
OF course we won't know that until we see what it is written on the monitor.
