Title: Sound files for IGT Games
Post by: wufpakman21 on January 16, 2012, 05:02:07 PM
Hello, I'm new to the site and have searched all over to find an answer to my question but can't seem to find one. So hear goes. My hobby is making music on my Mac computer but recently I've gotten interested in making sounds for slot machine games. The stock sounds I've found on the web leave a lot to be desired. The sounds I'm interested in are the IGT S series sounds. (Reel spinning sounds and win sounds) Obviously I can't simply copy IGT sounds but what I'd like to do is get high quality samples from their sounds so I can create my own version. I've seen on this website, where you can build an emulator that will play certain older slot games. I don't even need to go that far, I simply want to play the audio on my computer so I can record what I'm hearing. Is this even possible? And if so how? Also, if anyone here happens to have any CD quality recordings of the IGT sounds I would be more than thankful for them. Thanks

You can buy original S+ SP eproms from vendors that have the sounds programs written onto them but
that would a slot machine to play them as the AYxxxx sound generator chip on a different area of the MPU - stores the sound tones.
In other words, the SP chip is the "conductor" directing the tones from another chip that houses the "orchestra" !

There are numerous slot videos playing reel spin tunes all over the internet which are very easy to record.

The next best thing for you to try is to make your own reel spin .wav tunes
and play them through your media playing program.

I've searched all over the web and found numerous slot videos, but the audio is always recorded through a video camera with background noise making it impossible to sample.  Does the IGT S200 machine have an audio output built in to it where you could run the audio out to a recording source?

The S2000 Vision, Reel Touch,I-Games, and Game King platforms has an audio output on the LCD computers.
Whether or not you can enable them to output actual sound signals for recording - I am not aware of.

There are much better audio quality sound recordings of reel spins here in the NLG forum threads
where they were recorded in a home environment rather than a live gaming floor.
