Title: IGT I game 3902 board error question Post by: cunninghamvikes on January 17, 2012, 01:16:31 PM Hello,
I just bought 2 I game machines last month. Being a slot guy who already owns 6 other machines I figured I would buy extra games for these as they are supposed to be easy to change out. When I bought these 2 machines I also purchased 2 games & a key 22 chip. Now I have WMS machines in which I change games quite a bit so this is not my first rodeo but first go round with the 3902 platform. I removed my Munsters software & installed the Mystical Mermaids software except the base chip in which I put the key 22 chip. I turned on the machine & after it started to boot I got a message Pixel Rom Signature Error. I then shut it down & checked all my cards & chips to make sure they were positive in placement. They were & when turned back on the same error. I then removed this software & tried the Money Storm software I received. I then proceded in the key menu & then shut down. Replaced the key chip & then the game came right up. Now I had to do the key chip again to set the limits after I set the denom the first go round. First question is that normal to have to go to the key menu twice when loading machine? My second questions is where is my problem in the first set of software? Is the Pixel Rom Signature Error mean a bad pixel board? By pixel board I mean the largest board under the sound board. Can someone shed some light on this so I know what to tell the dealer I bought this software. I need to get back to them so they can fix my problem. Thanks anyone who can help in advance. Once you exit the keychip menu though you'll have to rekey it to make any changes.
Pixel ROMs are the shorter boards normally labeled PXLF X OF X. The machine is telling you that the signature of them did not match what it expected. It can be caused by a bad PXL Simm, but also can be caused by dirty simm contacts or the simm not being seated properly. Try cleaning the contacts off with a clean soft towel and some alcohol and re-install them. The larger simm card under the sound board is the CGF simm. If the machine has a problem with it you'll get a CG ROM error message. Good luck. |
