Title: Re: MANUAL FOR KONAMI Post by: cowboygames on June 09, 2012, 09:16:37 AM A work around for an EL key? Definately post that if you find one...
Title: Re: MANUAL FOR KONAMI Post by: Mr. Dinoman on June 09, 2012, 01:22:17 PM Good Luck!
The EL Key, a 16mm computer chip in an armored stainless steel case, is located on the MCTB and is used as a clear chip, set chip and for software authentication. The EL Key is a 1,152-bit secure read/write nonvolatile memory partitioned into three 384-bit blocks capable of data retention for over 10 years. Title: Re: MANUAL FOR KONAMI Post by: lindam1 on June 09, 2012, 05:59:46 PM The folks at Konami are very smart. I don't believe there is any kind of "work around" for lack of an EL Key. I am going out to my slot guy next week to pick up a load of machines, I know he has some EL Keys. I will see what he wants to part with one. I lucked out with the one I got from a guy in I think it was FL. and paid $250.00. they are hard to find and some are even harder to pay for. I've seen them as high as $1000.00
Title: Re: MANUAL FOR KONAMI Post by: drowzy817 on July 13, 2012, 05:10:58 AM damn those keys go for that much?i got mine for 100 and my friend got like three of them. are all the keys the same?
Title: Re: MANUAL FOR KONAMI Post by: lindam1 on July 13, 2012, 09:54:23 AM NO. You want "RCGLI0010", it has a red tag. this is a do all for K2V 1.5 & KGI 2.0
Title: Re: MANUAL FOR KONAMI Post by: drowzy817 on July 13, 2012, 10:28:03 AM do you what kind i got? it a red tag RC0N0001
Title: Re: MANUAL FOR KONAMI Post by: cowboygames on July 13, 2012, 10:46:03 AM I got mine for $50, but there's exceptions to every rule and for the most part they are hard to find and go for over $200 each. I have noticed a few more showing up lately though. Either it's the high profit margin or there's just more available due to machines being retired
Title: Re: MANUAL FOR KONAMI Post by: lindam1 on July 13, 2012, 11:03:26 AM I think it's because more machines are being made available and the big time buyers that buy a truckload or 2 at a time have to take what's on the truck and are scared of Konami's, and therefor just get rid of them cheap. I now have about 12 2.0's and 5 1.5's and all but one are working great cause of the magic key. I am confused as to why I got a Yellow level 1 key with each of the 1.5 video machine, when the red level 0 key is a do all.
Title: Re: MANUAL FOR KONAMI Post by: cowboygames on July 13, 2012, 11:52:39 AM Probably jist like S2000 keychips. Yellow was the key for that machine at that time. Red is newer and works backward on older models
Title: Re: MANUAL FOR KONAMI Post by: lindam1 on July 13, 2012, 01:02:21 PM With the Konami's all the yellow keys are game specific. you must the the key with the game's name on it. but I can't see that is dose anything. We need a Konami guru to chime in.
