Title: Uniteds Sunny Shuffel Alley help
Post by: KenC on January 19, 2012, 08:08:27 PM
I hope I'm in the right place, first time here. My shuffel bowler works fine while being played. The problem is that the Number of players (at the top), the Frame number (at the bottom), Player Up number, all 6 players scores, & all 6 players strike/spare units refuse to reset for a new game. I have gone over ALL of the switches (contacts/points) including those on the score motor, relay bank & all others more than once. As I hit the button for a new game, I can see that the A, B, & C reset relays (including the Bonus reset relay) are activating. I have checked all of the wiring harness connectors & searched for broken wires or solder connections. What have I missed? Your help would sure be appreciated!
Thanks, KenC

Sometimes the electronics are good, but the mechanics are sticking and do not reset. Check all of the mechanical parts like gears, shafts, cogs etc for binding due to grease build up. Run them by hand and see if they work properly.

Thanks for your reply Frank A. & Slotsteve. After months of troubleshooting, I ruled out the score motor as the problem after going over the contacts several times. Then I kinda narrowed it down to either the game over & start relays on the relay bank, which I have also checked many times before. In frustration, I moved the bunch of wires (near the start relay, @ the bottom of the relay bank) inward, as opposed to pulling, & the machine has worked perfectly ever since! I bought a schematic & sent it to my son who can read it. We still want to find the broken wire or connection, but as for now, I am enjoying playing it, after having it non playable for years. Thanks again for your help & concern.
