Title: Reels Indexing Backwards
Post by: mjwnr on January 20, 2012, 12:17:35 AM
Have a friend who has a problem here....I am trying to dust off the cobwebs as to when this happened to me:

" i get meters unplugged on the VFD , reels indexing backwards, handle solenoid engaging. so far i have swapped out all the comm brds , i have replaced the game brd and the mother brd . i have done two clear chips, RR the battery , RR the DC power supply."

It's the reels indexing backwards that I had the issue with..if someone could  be so kind as to remind me here...

Hey Max!
Welcome to NLG.  :3-
What kind of machine are you talking about? An IGT, Bally, WMS?
I think you started this thread in the wrong forum section?

I may be wrong but try this?
Open the door and flip the reset keyswitch once - that might stop the reels.

reels indexing backwards,

Max

Did you install the reel wire harness backwards?
Is the connector for reel one in the slot for reel three?

Or when you say backwards, is that on the maiden spin? That is normal.

It's not my game, a friends..as a matter of fact, I did recommend that to him, I am feeling it is a harness issue, I am waiting to hear back from him, but I believe you may be right on this one, Neon..:)

Have had this problem before and I replaced the cabinet I/O board for the fix. You said you replaced all of the comm boards ---- don't know if you meant the I/O boards. Hope this helps.

I agree with idylewild it's a IO problem.  Last month was chasing a "Coin in Error" on a 10 button S 2000 ( machine didn't have coin handling) My Son and I started out with one machine that wouldn't work and by switching parts around trying to fix it ended up with 4 machines not working !! Now I'm only  referring to door  IO's (2) in 10 button machine. If your machine does NOT have a 5/9 line display use IO part numbers 14930203 (coin comparitor side) and #14928001 ( this one goes between the belly glass and the inner door panel)  If you have a 5/9 line display both IO's are #14930203. Now to make this even more confusing the metal side of IO has one part # board side a different #  #14930203 /75427802  and 14928001 / 75427801

If you have a 5 button, 1 door IO  machine use 14928001

Hare is a picture of the Dirty Dog that caused the Coin in Error. I always say the only fun in a Slot Machine is working on them, this machine I had just about all the fun I could stand !!
