As some of you know, I'm trying to breath NewLife  :nlg-  into a old Vision Ready machine.
Thanks to many here I'm close to done. The only thing missing is my printer in the top box.
The older Vision ready machines did not have all the wiring that the regular S2000's had so there is no connector for the printer.

Just so I'm clear, Is it as easy as making a wire harness to run from J14 on the motherboard up to the top box and pin it out as shown in my data below?

and here is the printer pinout and if correct a chart to pin it to.

I do have the correct printer PSA-66-001N

My machine didn't have the printer harness for the topbox either
so I cut a couple of plastic ties off of the printer harness down near the service outlet
and pulled it up towards the back left to the printer.
It's long enough if you remove two zip ties.

No my machine does not have the wire harness. (Vision Ready MFG Date 3/1998)
My question is can I make one using the pinout I posted. I would think YES, but I want to be sure I'm not missing something.

Yeah...just make an extension harness to go up there to the topbox.
Follow the same colors as the printer Molex that usually goes into the reel glass.
Want me make it for you or do you have all the stuff?
You need any receptor pins or anything?

Even the Vision (Ready) have Netplex to the top box
it is the 9 pin connector (3 x 3)
That is why you see some of the Amp wiring harnesses with a 3x3 connector on them
The only thing is I have not been able to find that 3 x 3 connector so using the printer netplex on the motherboard would be ok.
If I remember right there is a hole in the left connector bracket for the top box.
It is towards the right side of that group of connectors.

The other option is to get Power Distribution board, plastic stand offs for it (unless you have a S2000 top box on it now) and 3 harnesses
One harness about 12" goes from that 9 pin connector to a end netplex port on the Power Distribution board.
Another harness about 6" long plugs into an empty netplex  port on the distribution board and plugs into the 8 connector that is part of the printer harness.
There is one other harness that is needed but I do not think it is an option for a machine that has a Vision main harness.
It plugs into a 12pin connector on the right side of the top box and the 4 pin (1x4) on the Power Distribution board and the Amp. It powers the 2 pin (25V/Grnd) and the 4 pin (25V/13V/2 Gnd) on the Power Dist board.

It was your commit about the 9 pin connectors that struck a cord with me. I remember seeing that one in a box of harness parts and it was connected to another harness that had the 10 pin Netplex connector and the other end was the 8 pin printer connector. Plugged it in and all is good now. I just need the correct Bezel for the printer and some paper.

Next I need to tackel the missing wire harness for power to the lighted reel controller. I have the lighted reels, reel harness and controller installed. Just need to make up the 3 X 2 harness for power to the controller. This was also missing from my machine.

On a side note and unrelated to the printer issue, I fried  :98- my U3 IC chip on the motherboard. It's a 4050B IC used as Hex buffer. Everything on the machine is working with this chip smoked. Should I order a new one and replace it? Looks like it had many gates to control more than one function.

I can send you a parts complete dead board if you want it to steal parts off of. Just tell me the revision number or yours

What is the rear Bezal connector for?...My printer is not working...Is that supposed to be hooked up to somewhere?

I got the wire harness made for the power to the lighted reel control board and all is working.
I must have one of the earlier MPU's because I'm getting that buzzing sound in the speakers. My other machine with lighted reels does not have the static noise. I guess it's time for the resistor trick or buy the improved MPU.

I'll post some pictures soon of both machines. It was fun getting these non-parts complete machines and really getting to know them through the process.
