Title: 1936 Groetchen Columbia 5 cent
Post by: Frank A on January 27, 2012, 01:19:59 PM
Has anyone ever worked on a Groetchen Columbia ? I have a major mechanical jamb that I can't dislodge. The main shaft has a cam roller stuck in a gear valley or detent. Help !!! I unstuck the coin mechanism and carousel, but the levers and gears won't budge. It is a mechanical jamb not a rust issue.

I am up to the Columbia challenge ! I got the jam out thru lubrication and a very big screw driver as a lever. The slide and gear that connected to the reels was seized. It actually cycled. I will continue to tweak the coin mech. I am off to buy nickels. The Astor may have a blown fuse since it accepts coins and takes credits and lights up in that area. No power anywhere else. $ 400 is cheap therapy since the twe machines have kept my mind busy until I go back to work in March. Thanks for the help.
