What version MPU are you running? 502, 504, 1270? And have you actually put a meter on the battery to check voltage?

serial number on board is 9939214500 cq
model number is igt91895702
hope this is what you are asking

I don't recognize those numbers and I'm not at home to check. Does your coin battery solder in or slide in?

Title: Re: replaced my battery and still a low battery reading

solder

Probably a 502 or 504 then. What kind of shape is your green battery in? Any signs of leakage? You cleared the ram on the board when you changed the battery. Didn't clear the motherboard though. You could try a clear chip, but don't get your hopes up

There's 2 batteries on the S2k board, the green one that monitors door status, etc., while the machine is off, and the coin battery, which backs up all the memory stuff. You can do without the green battery, but not the coin battery. The coin battery is probably the dead one, what does it read with a voltmeter?

That's why I was asking which board he has, because you can't remove the green battery on 1270 enhanced boards

Which battery did he replace?

I don't know for positive, but I think it was the coin battery. One of my earlier questions asked him about it

if you replaced the coin battery, then check your solder joints.  You probably already open and closed the door twice to clear codes...

replaced the green battery

Title: Re: replaced my battery and still a low battery reading

It's the coin battery that's low. The machine doesn't monitor or care about the green one

Replace the coin battery.  :89- :89-

I replace them with the sockets, so battery changes are easier. Radio Shack P/N 270-009, they usually have 2 or 3 in stock at my RS...  :5-

You may need to go into menu three and reset credit limits. Also check to make sure the cash can is seatd and latched properly.

i  might have done this to it last night,
how do i undo or what do i do to get in this option

If you have any credits on the machine it won't let you change that. If there's no credits on the machine, try a clear chip and just set everything back up again with your keychip

where do i find a options menu,
on what all the settings should be, i am sure i messed them up trying to fix my other issues
now all i need to do is get my bill vallidator working

Title: Re: replaced my battery and still a low battery reading

Go into menu 3 under machine options and limits to see where they're set at and then check menu 7 and see if your bv is enabled or not. If your credit limit is very low then the BV won't accept any bill that will exceed the limit. Or if your bill limit is real low, same issue. Browse through the menus and submenus to get a feel for where things are at. It's a good education

Go into the options menu ----- option 4 I/O tests. Hit the spin reel button to enter this option. Use the cash out button to go to Auto netplex configure option. Hit spin reel (may have to hit spin reel 1-2 times). Bill valadator should grind up. When done hit the bet max/bet 2 credits/ or the bet three credits a number of times to exit options mode. Close door and if all went well your BV should work. Hope this helps.

Do you have a "31" key chip and a "97" clear chip?  I suspect a clear/key procedure may need to be performed.  When a battery goes by the wayside, the CMOS may be screwed up.  If nothing else works, this would be something I would suggest.

I can't really think of any other avenues to pursue.  Others may chime in with additional ideas.

Good luck!  :)

Should be a round lithium battery..should be reading 3.4-3.5 volts..

Max  The round battery's are rated at 3 volts, you will find a new one will read a little over 3 volts, but I think 3.5 is pushing it.

I am just going on our batteries, I always check them before I install them, as sometimes they arrive low...I usually get a reading of 3.4-3.5. Now I can't speak for any other situation, just ours..we get our batteries from Suzo-Happ...

You know what, Buzz, I never really ever gave it a second thought until we brought it up here about the voltage, ...looks like I will have to try another meter, never thought that the meter might be a little out of whack, because with every new batch, I have been getting consistent readings of 3.41 to 3.5. Thanks for bringing this up, will try another meter today..

While we are on the subject, let me ask you this...I am used to land-based casinos. This is the first boat I have worked on. We sail everyday but Monday. Tuesday Morning, we always have "Main Battery Low" issues. Now, I realize that the boat has no earth ground, but on Mondays we are on shoreside power...what do you think could be causing this? This is an ongoing problem..

Max  You will have to get one of the Wiz-Kids to ans. that question. First thing that came to mind was, when I was in the US Navy they told me " your never futher than one mile from land, it's straight down " water conducts electricity.

Anything I've ever read is a slot machine battery is not on a charging circuit. As a test if I had one machine that seemed to give me a lot of battery problems, next Sunday night I would pull the wall plug and see if that makes a difference.

I don't the machine's being on boat is a problem with grounding.
If that were a related case in any way, then all of the vessel's navigation electronics would be getting dead CMOS batteries as well.
I'm sure they don't lose their settings when the power is turned on to them.

There was another steamboat captain on here a couple years ago but I don't remember f he had any battery problems.
I think all he was asking was if it was okay to put banks of machines on a single power switch such as surge control switches.
He was tired of opening every machine to turn them on or off all the time.
I think the answer was just to flip the circuit breakers on or off as desired and that would be fine.

If this helps, I run Casino boats and we turn them on and off sometimes 2-3 times a day. We seem to replace a lot of batteries, but I am not sure if that's not normal...
