Title: New Source for Led Goodies etc,,
Post by: Magicslots on January 28, 2012, 08:56:22 PM
I stumbled across this site today while hunting LED lamps for my S2k's,  I am sure it is not new to some of you, but I have never heard of them.
http://www.kiesub.com/prostores/servlet/-strse-LED-Replacement-Technology/Categories (http://www.kiesub.com/prostores/servlet/-strse-LED-Replacement-Technology/Categories)

The Denom light at the top is about half the price of the replacement the Happ sells, so I will probably have to try one or two out, as I am replacing all the lights I can in my machines with LEDS.
They also have tons of other electronic goodies, so i thought I would pass this along to the great people here at NLG...    :89-

Magicslots   If your talking about the denom light in the center top of your reel glass, you really should start reading some of the post.  It's been posted a couple of times in great detail, if you put a LED light bulb in that position your next post will be "where can I buy a new display I burned mine up" ( I did two of them before I learned ) with Capt. Happy watching me. Hell one of them was his machine. ( Tabasco )

The one he's referring to comes with the LEDs on a circuit board for the denom light, plugs in where the old one did. This setup shouldn't cause the failures that you guys saw and comes with a 3 year warranty, but it's pretty pricey at $12.50...

They've got a couple nice LED replacements for the top and belly lights, too!

I have put an LED in my denom lamp socket, did not do anything to my machine.
It just didn't look right, as others have posted.

In fact until I got a LED version of the BV Bezel board I placed 2 of them in lamp sockets for the BV Bezel. didn't kill the BV bezel board or my machine then either.

I made sure the leads on the wedge style LED did not short anything out.
In fact when I got out a new bulb for my S+ or S2000 (before I converted the buttons to LED) I would check that the bulb leads did not cause a short.

I was replacing my denom bulb in my S+ often due to me opening or closing the door, you know what happens when you bump a hot bulb the wrong way.
I had 2 or 3 bulbs that I had to adjust the leads or they would have shorted something.

I have used this in my denom. light, but it is a bit pricey.
Makes a nice even light. You have to remove the reel glass to
plug it in the removable socket.

I think it would be best rather, to leave the reel glass in where it's located,
and just remove the display panel to pop in the lamp?

                                    or

one could use a glass cutter, cut a hole in the reel glass,
plug in the new bulb then glue the reel glass back in place?  :97- :208-

Please count to ten so I can run and hide from r273.... :138- :273-

( just kidding ya R! )

Bunker, I just drilled a hole in my slot glass so I could change it without removing the reel glass.
Now what do I use to to cover the hole up with so I can use the denom label? :103-  :79-

Nice but pricey for belly and top glass. I prefer to make my own. Everything in my machines are led. No florescent or incandescent bulbs here! :200-

Magic Slots do you have a surplus electronics parts & such place near you.
They might have some LED strips you can buy and experiment with.

I am not talking about the LED mounted in tubing (rope light) either.

The ones I looked at you would need something to mount them as well a maybe a light defusing material between them and the glass.

Just ask people that work there some questions.

Actually, Mouser is only about 15 miles from my house.  But they are a huge supply warehouse, and I have never bought anything from them.
Surplus electronics?  I'll have to look around. Born and raised here, but don't know of any off hand.

That is what the place I go is considered they up old unused inventory from various places

They may also buy from Mouser or Newark for some things.

I can get most of my connectors from them, they are like 30 miles from me.
If I need only one to finish something and they are open (about 1.5 miles from me) I check there, they don't always have what I need.

I will post some pics. It is actually a lot easier than you think with the stuff I am using. You can get it cheap on ebay. It uses 12v from the machine. You dou have to mount the lights to some metal plate or something but they are self adhesive with 3M which makes it easy.
