Title: whats a no display error mean? Post by: staz on February 12, 2012, 02:11:17 PM i got a wierd error on my s2k it said in the winner paid and credits window "no display" i opened and closed the door and the machine cleared it but wondering what cuased that to happen?

Its the blue display. They however are not controlled by the IO cards, that's senet system stuff. The VFD is a netplex device. There are a few common problems with the VFD: sometimes some of the solder joints can lift or the colorful ribbon cable could be lose.

If the error is gone I wouldn't worry about it to much. The most common failure I have seen is there is a group of three legs on the display on the end that have a solder joint that fails. if you feel so inclined you can remove the display (2 screws for the cover and 2 for the display if I remember correctly :186-) and check the connections. But as long as it continues to work I would leave well enough alone as they say.
