Will your CC 100 connector help me? It is a .05 slot
Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: cowboygames on September 24, 2012, 12:41:51 AM I still haven't seen a game that uses that cable. Are the optics built into the comparitor on those machines or what?
Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: Buzz on September 24, 2012, 01:13:37 AM Rob I'm guessing it's for a S+
Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: cowboygames on September 24, 2012, 01:17:57 AM Thanks Buzz, I got one once when i ordered for an S2000 and they exchanged it for me, but claimed up and down that it was for an S2000. Can't imagine how it would work other than for a machine without separate optics. Haven't looked at an S+ for a couple years though, do they have separate cables for comparitor and optics?
Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: Buzz on September 24, 2012, 02:42:25 AM Yes Sir it's a small pig tail just for the comp. Bally 5500 used almost the same thing except the plug to the machine was square.

The Coin Comparator is 6 Pin and the plug in is for a 3 pin This is the issue I am working with. The Coin Comparator is 6 Pin and the plug in is for a 3 pin It does sound a little silly, 3 wires coming from the door to a 6 pin connector on the coin comparator, but that's exactly what you need. ( all 6 pins on the CC are not used ) As I recall the comparator on a S+ uses 4 pins, one on those wires loops from one pin to another pin. If you look at that sorry picture margiekiesub posted you can see a jumper wire. That should be coming from the Coin Mech Harness. There should be 4 wires coming out of the back of it. Your picture has your fingers covering the wires though. The center receptor pin has two ground wires doubled up - they are orange w/green stripes. FYI ...>>> The #1 receptor pin is the one on the pointy side of the Molex housing - it is marked on the other side of the housing itself. That plugs into the short 3-pin to 6-pin harness that goes into your coin comparitor. Basically, you're missing the short harness that you see in my photo that has the black plastic cover on it. I tried to show you in the attached photoshopped photograph. I hope this helps you? I am going to shop around the website a little more to see if there is anything else I need to save on shipping. The shipping alone for that piece is nearly $10.
Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: cowboygames on September 24, 2012, 04:57:10 PM Do you have the other cables that are part of that assembly?
Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: TPMARTIN on September 24, 2012, 05:17:40 PM Yes, I just need the one cable. I was looking to see if they had any Coin-In parts or anything else I could use. But no luck.
Thanks for everyones help. Tim Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: TPMARTIN on September 24, 2012, 05:21:16 PM Another Picture showing a little more detail

Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: TPMARTIN on September 24, 2012, 07:19:20 PM I have a .05 machine so I'll order the first one...
Thanks Tim p.s. Joey, I sent you an email earlier asking a question. I hope you received it. Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: TPMARTIN on September 29, 2012, 11:44:02 PM Okay,
I bought the cable and hooked it up and it works great except now I've got a loud humm from the coin comp area when the game is idle. When the game is on play, reels spinning, the humming stops and one they stop and it pays off they start humming again. It is not a faint humm it is a loud annoying hum Any thoughts? Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: cowboygames on September 30, 2012, 03:44:42 AM Sounds like a coin reject solenoid is hanging up
Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: TPMARTIN on September 30, 2012, 01:38:45 PM If it is in the Coin reject solenoid is there a way to fix that or should I look for a replacement. If its replacement than anyone out there with a Coin Comp for sale please let me know.
Thanks Tim Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: Buzz on September 30, 2012, 02:59:31 PM You don't need it, just unplug it.
Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: TPMARTIN on September 30, 2012, 07:24:27 PM It only started after I put in the new cable on.
Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: TPMARTIN on October 01, 2012, 06:46:44 PM Okay, I have another dumb question... Where is the Coin Reject Solenoid at? Can someone tell me what it looks like?
Thanks Tim Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: TPMARTIN on October 01, 2012, 06:49:45 PM Looking at stayoutofdabunkers picture above I think I may have answered my own question but I would unhook the 2 pin Gate Solenoid....
Let me know if that right Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: cowboygames on October 01, 2012, 08:46:36 PM That would be the first thing I'd try
Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 01, 2012, 09:22:02 PM Okay, I have another dumb question... Where is the Coin Reject Solenoid at? Can someone tell me what it looks like? Thanks Tim There are NO dumb questions Tim! You're very welcome to ask anything you'd like about your machine! As you are now a member of the NLG family - we are all here to try and help you. :89- Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: Foster on October 01, 2012, 10:52:14 PM What comparator do you have in the machine, and have you tried unplugging the drop solenoid (that is the one below the optics)
the comparator has one as well but it must not be disconnected on a small coin comparator or all coins will be rejected. A buzzing solenoid sounds like something designed for DC is being used with AC. double check the comparator and harness. There are S+ and S2000 harnesses that do look very similar but there are some differences and they are not interchangeable. Post some pictures of your comparator and harnesses and even machine information if you have not done so already Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: TPMARTIN on October 01, 2012, 11:30:00 PM Thanks for your response. I pulled the comparator out and on the back of the comparator there is a metal piece that goes in and out and it is rattling all the time except when the reels are in motion.
I thought maybe I could tape it but when I did that the coin wouldn't be accepted. I tried unhooking it but when you do the coins won't register. Thoughts or do I need a new comparator? If so anyone got one that works for sale? Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: proten on October 01, 2012, 11:51:00 PM Wedge it back with a piece of folded paper.
But then it will accept all coins. Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: Buzz on October 02, 2012, 03:51:18 AM I always try to figure out how and why something does what it does. Let's look at a CC 16 24 Volt coin comparator in a IGT S+ machine. ( The following does not apply to a S 2000 )
This coin comparator is like a Independent contractor, his only job is to compare the coin you drop into the coin head to the sample coin you have installed in the comparator. You drop in a coin and in a split second and a distance of about a inch and a half the comparator has compered the drop coin to the sample coin, if they are a match the rake on the back of the comparator will ,open and the drop coin will go through the coin optics and then into the hopper. A BAD coin, the rake remains closed and the coin goes to the tray. Once the coin exits the comparator, the comparators job is done, it's not going to count coins for you or toss out errors or make any lights light up. Let's do some trouble shooting on your machine. Unplug your brand new pig tail, take a piece of paper and block the comparator rake open ( on back of comparator ). reinstall everything turn power on and close door. Do you still hear the noise that you had ?? I'll bet you still have the noise, we know it's not the comparator because it doesn't have any power. ( brand new pig tail is unplugged )OK as a test if you want to, you have the rake blocked open you can drop any and all size coins, flat washer if you want all items dropped in to the hopper will work, OH don't let me forget to tell you with that MESS in the hopper best not to hit the cash out button or your next post will be you are looking for help on fixing your hopper !! If after all this BS you still have the noise, put everything back as it is suppose to be and unplug the diverter solenoid ( actually three of us have tried to get you to do this already ) All the diverter does is divert the coins to a bucket in the slot stand when the hopper gets to full. ( Home owners never get one to full ) Title: Re: We have coin comparator cables Post by: proten on October 02, 2012, 08:23:41 AM I had a large coin acceptor in my S+ make a buzzing noise when the comparator went bad.
The rake would buzz till the third coin was dropped. http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=9336.msg80742#msg80742 |
