Title: Stereo sound, Cpu-nxt in a 550 legacy cabinet.
Post by: dragster73 on February 13, 2012, 06:54:08 PM
Can i hook up a second speaker on the 4 pin plug of the backplane of a 550 machine using a cpu-nxt board? There is a 4 pin molex there with two wires hooked up already on the backplane. Can i hook the other two unused pins up for stereo?

The speaker output jk on a 550 has a full output and a high output
pins 1 & 3 are the high output, it is used on the newer 550's with a 2" speaker in the door
pins 2 & 4 are the full output wired to the larger speaker on the side of the cabinet
if you don't have the 2" speaker you can add one,
while this will give somewhat improved sound, it will not give you stereo
both outputs will work with the CPU/NXT
