Title: Re: circuit board cleaning Post by: cowboygames on March 04, 2012, 12:27:32 PM I use Tun-O-Wash, spray on, maybe use a parts brush on the tuff spots and spray rinse. Works great! I've put REALLY bad ones in the dishwasher before, but you have to have the patience of Jobe to make sure they're dry before you try to use them afterword. Keep in mind this was on TV boards, so there were no batteries or socketed chips on the boards. To try it on slot boards, I'd remove those items first and rinse with electronics cleaner after to displace any residual impurities or water
Title: Re: circuit board cleaning Post by: jbshocks on March 04, 2012, 12:58:06 PM I just cleaned a pinball board with viniger and water for battery damage then straight water and final rinse with alcohol. I took off all chips in sockets. It cleaned up really nice. I am weeks away from powering it on.

Title: Re: circuit board cleaning Post by: OldReno on March 05, 2012, 09:44:43 PM There's 2 grades of liquid rubbing alcohol, one is 91% and the other is less-like 60 or something.
I use it and a cut down solder flux brush and some elbow grease. Seems to work pretty nice. Under 4 bucks for a quart bottle full. |
