Title: Dead Bally 5500, power supply or mpu board?
Post by: BR549 Auto Sales on March 13, 2012, 10:47:53 PM
Looking at a Bally 5500 series machine (UFO) and all that I am getting is the general illumination, no error code, no led lights on the mpu board, no bill validator cycling. There was quite a few tokens on the inside of the machine that either did not make it to the hopper or was transported with a hopper full of tokens. I removed all of the tokens and put them in the hopper, did not notice any sign where they may have caused a short f some type. Seems like i read somewhere that the power supply is a common problem on these models. My question is can I test a power supply from a Bally 6000 in this machine without doing any damage to my known working power supply? Or could it be a problem with th mpu itself?

Thanks,

David
