Title: U24 ON BALLY 6000 Post by: FORDSBS on March 16, 2012, 05:42:46 PM I have a MPU board for a Bally 6000. On the MPU board the chip in U24 is missing.

Thanks Ford I dont know what the chip does but I do know you dont need it for progressive machines....Basically non progressives have them and progressive machines don’t. [/quote] It is actually the oposite....Progressive machines dont have them. It's not a progressive machine, but I just got it so not sure if it may have been. So from what I have read so far it needs the U24 chip if it's not going to be progressive? If So - Just getting a chip from above link and plugging it in will be OK? OR does the chip need to be programmed? Could this U24 chip being missing cause ERROR 88, since the MPU not picking up the progressive info? thought would be used only for progressive until someone corrected me. Hey I am no expert so I willingly accept the notes of those wiser than I. Unfortunately for you an Error code 88 is a catastrophic error :8- of unknown origin on the MPU Board The manual suggests that you send the board in for repair.
