Title: Bally S6000 error code 99 .3 ?
Post by: b5srt on March 20, 2012, 12:51:33 AM
Anyone know what error code 99 .3 might be ? I was able to clear it by just hitting the reset.

Code 99 = Severe Failure

An error has been detected with the MPU board. A diagnostic self check has determined that memory is uncorrupted. The error is recoverable.

I have No Clue - I am a noob at slot machines for a whole day now.

No further information was provided in the manual on Code 99

So hopefully a SMARTr NLG member will chime in and help you out.

Checked all that, everything seems good. The machine will work fine, then it will give a 99 error or just lock up with all the lights flashing on and off fast.

Could it be that it's related to your other thread (post), and the battery ground is still having issues?

I just finished shopping a machine and it appears I have a bad or glitchy  board. The machine will run and sit idle fine then within a 1/2 hour I will get an "81" error code. Once I open the door and try to reset or just open and close the door, sometimes it will go away but most of the time it will turn into different 80 or 83 codes with all the lights flashing. I have changed the battery twice with a tested 3.7V, I have replaced both the personality, main chips and the U20 & U45 ram chips and have performed complete ram clears many times. I have checked the pins in the back of the board and all appear to be good. I have put this board in different machines and it will do the same thing. Any ideas ????????? Thanks

Yes, that was another board that gave me some trouble but fiqured that one out. Now I am working on this problem with a different board....These machines / boards are usually very reliable, I guess Im just due for some head scratching. I have just removed and re-seated all chips on the board, checked all jumpers and re-seated all dip switches and performed another complete clear......Let see what happens.

Well it did it again so I changed boards and put the same mains and personality chips in the new board and again I got a 99 3 error after the machine sat idle for 1/2 hour.....So its not a board issue......I know the personallity chips are good because they are Bally chips that I have used in the past with no trouble.....Maybe the mains have been corrupted.....I am now going to try different mains to see what happens.

Looks like it was the mains.....going on 2 days now with no issues, before it would give an error within 1 hour.
