Title: Bally iView
Post by: ShortCourse on April 07, 2012, 02:05:07 AM
I've got a Ballys Iview on one of our machines.

Anyone figure out how to display a simple message or picture?

Thanks.

Well, I've been searching high and low with nothing to show for it yet.

Pulled it out of the machine today and looked for part numbers and the such, but nothing turned up.

I can find replacement CCFL screens all over, but no technical information otherwise.

Figure I should start by just trying to locate a power supply.  One isn't provided within the machine?
Does anyone recognize the power supply connection?

As I said before, not looking for a bunch of cool functions with touch abilities and the such.  Just the LEDs and Screen to work with maybe
just a single image.

Oh, and the green grounding strap in located in the machine as well, fastened to the cabinet.

Thanks.

Looks like the Mastercom 250 power supply might work. Just don't know what the power
requirements are for your CCFL screen.

Don't pay attention to the note I had on this old photo. Click to enlarge.

Well, I ordered a master comm power supply last Sunday and got it today.  No dice however.

The one I received wasn't what was pictured on their site however.
Before I try and return it, is this a master comm power supply or was I shipped the wrong item?

This is what was pictured:

But this is what I received:

Obviously it is different than the plug style on the iView.  It has 3 pins, equally spaced and centered at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock with a center plastic locating pin.

Any insight would be great, thanks!

I note that mine reads Bally Systems and it is 9VDC.
And two different size pins.

Here are a couple of pics. Click to enlarge.

I think you need the 12 volt/4.1 amp brick.
My connector has the 2 fat round pins
and a skinny round pin staggered in triangular locations. (3-pins in all)
Here's some pictures of mine for you...>>>
