Hi

Red menus are for EFT games and blue ones for AFT.
Are you a home user or casino employee. Settings depend heavily on what environment you are operating in.

EFT = Electronic funds transfer ie TITO
AFT = Coupons redeemed by players at the machines or bonus credits awarded by a random jackpot type set up

Brianzz, are your sure that TITO considered EFT?

Technically, the funds aren't being electronically transferred anywhere. The Casino's server is merely creating a temporary database record assigning value to the ticket that was printed and looking it up upon presentation for redemption. The ticket becomes a bearer instrument of a debt owed by the casino to its presenter, just like a chip (which casino employees call cheques for this very reason) from the gaming tables.

Electronic Funds Transfer usually refers to the electronic transfer of funds out of, into, or between bank accounts. I thought that EFT at a slot involved the patron using a bank debit card to credit the machine directly from his or her checking account.

Of course, I could be mistaken. :103-

I know at casinos where I have freeplay that I download from my slot club account to a machine, on the IGT machines it will display "EFT IN" as the money gets added to the credit meter.  :71-

Hi All

As far as i know the acronyms mean the following.
AFT - Advanced funds transfer (Games with blue/gray menu selections)
EFT - Electronic fund transfer (Games with Red menu selections)

AFT games talk in a newer SAS version and have some additional features such as multi denom.

On both you can send and recieve funds to the machine from an online system. Dont think casinos will ever allow machines to transfer directly from bank cards (Not here in Africa anayway)
There are however systems where you use a magnetic,RFID or smartcard and use this as the transfer system of money between games.

Duxx - are you using coins or TITO or smartcards in your casino and do you have some kind of online system. All these will affect the way your machines need to be set. Let me know and i can take some photos of settings on my machines.

Tx
Ian

hi tz
im using a smartcard system. i have noticed that some games can be tokenized which allows a faster way to upload and download credits. Im still confused on why some games (same games) allow me to do that and some dont. Some customers dont like the pulse by pulse method (i dont either,it takes a long time to load 100 credits to the machine.) I would really like to make all my games tokenized. please help.
thanks

the "typical" red button games are older programs that were designed when EFT was still considered only a possibility and AFT wasn't even thought of.  then came the blue/grey programs that had the ability to do loads more stuff with funds electronically.
what player tracking system do you use at your casino?
do you have a PSR for your programs?  the PSR will break down every keychip option and define them for you.  if you don't have it then you can post up your program numbers and i'm sure that you will get some mysterious e-mails that just happen to have the PSRs attached to them  :89-  i'll be at work in a few hours and i can pull out one of my PSRs to explain what each of the settings your wondering about do.  i don't know jacksh!t about a smartcard system since we don't use it but we can probably get it figured out for you, i've been beating my head against GKs for awhile now  :7- :7-

program numbers are your game and base chip numbers, with the game on you can get them from the version accounting screen in the operators menu.  once you have the program numbers you can get the PSR from the IGT website if you have access, if you don't have the website access then post up your program numbers and someone her will hook you up.  here's what i got from one of my PSRs:

Cash Out Menu:  If this option is enabled, the player can divide the cash out between the hopper and a ticket.  Access the Operator Menu and touch Setup, Machine Options, Cashout Menu Setup, and the Change icon next to PLAYER SELECTABLE CASHOUT

Player Coin Limit:  To use this option, the printer and menu option must be enabled.  This limit determines the maximum number of coins the player can select in the Coin Cash Out box when pays are to be split between the hopper and printer.  If this option is set to zero, the player cannot adjust the amounts split between the hopper and the printer.  Access the Operator Menu and Printer Options.  To enable or disable the printer, access the Key Chip Menu, touch Cashout Devices.  To view this option, access the Operator Menu and touch Setup, Machine Options, and Cashout Devices.

Quick Coin:  Allows the player to generate a partial cash out from the hopper.  Access the Operator Menu and touch Setup, Machine Options, and Cashout Menu Setup.

the first page of the PSR is very nice to have as well, it informs you of what key and clear chips are needed for each particular program number.  hope this stuff helps you, g/l!!  :89-

Hello Duxx

Do you have a website link for that system. If it is talking SAS there should not be a delay uploading /downloading credits. However some of the lower cost sytems do not use SAS and instead simulate the signals to the BV or coin input to book credits to machine and signals from the hopper to book credits back to the system.
You can tokenize both AFT and EFT games. Will see if i can get some photos of setups for you in the morning

As you can see from the explanations that KFOREMAN posted if you have a smartcard system none of the setting you asked about are applicable for a cashless setup. You should not have any problems obtaining a user acess to the IGT website. There is a  really a lot of usefull information on their website.

Ian
