Title: Clear chip Post by: rickaaaer on April 19, 2012, 09:04:49 PM How do I use the clear chip on a s2000 IGt machine and which chip is the eprom? Thainks Rick
I'm attaching a photo of the processor board. Where is the SB eprom located on the processor board. Title: Re: Clear chip Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 20, 2012, 12:28:02 AM Your Clear chip should be the same size in length as the SB eprom.
Make sure you re-install the chips in the correct DIRECTION. You will see a notch on the end of the chip and an etched notch imprinted on the board floor next to the socket. Basically, remove the SB chip and install the Clear chip in it's place. Put the MPU back in and power up the machine. Watch the two amber LED lights come on then power off the machine. Remove the MPU, the Clear chip and re-install the SB chip back in place. Put the MPU back in and power up the machine. Your machine is back to virgin settings. After your done clearing the CMOS, re-install the SB chip the same socket. Your Clear chip and SB chip won't fit in any other socket! Title: Re: Clear chip Post by: rickaaaer on April 21, 2012, 12:06:09 AM thank you

Thanks Title: Re: Clear chip Post by: rickaaaer on April 27, 2012, 06:19:36 PM I'm a newbie, but I thank it clears EPROM memory

Title: Re: Clear chip Post by: LeisureTimeSlots on April 28, 2012, 03:25:13 PM When the clear chip and or key chips are installed in the MPU, wait for the two amber LEDS to illuminate. The VFD will not display anything. Once the amber lighs are illuminated on the MPU, shut the machine down and install the base chip (40 pin) . Power the machine back up and clear errors by turning the reset key and then the test button on the MPU when instructed to on the VFD. Remember to make sure the chips are in the correct direction and none of the chip pins fold over. Also, you might not need a full clear. what problem are you trying to correct ?
