Title: Bally to Cham2+ harness Post by: Jordan on April 20, 2012, 01:59:31 AM Hi,
Does anyone have a bally to Cham2+ harness or know where I can get the sockets to make my own? Title: Re: Bally to Cham2+ harness Post by: Jordan on May 01, 2012, 10:00:14 PM Ok, here is an update for anyone else that needs to make their own harness.
Thanks to Foster he told me what the Cham2+ end of the harness is, The Cham II+ end is a 2x7 0.100" inch connector, also a header connector. Your PC uses the same connectors the spacing and connector size is the same: PATA, Floppy, USB headers are all 0.100 The Bally end is Molex part # 03-09-2040 http://www.molex.com/molex/products/datasheet.jsp?part=active/0003092040_CRIMP_HOUSINGS.xml (http://www.molex.com/molex/products/datasheet.jsp?part=active/0003092040_CRIMP_HOUSINGS.xml) You will need .093" Molex male pins for the Bally end & I would use solid wire rather than stranded wire to make your harness. Solid wire can only handle some bending or flexing until it breaks. I never had a problem using stranded wire for any harness I have made. The wire stays crimped in the connector even though I cant crimp them the way the proper crimp die would. I have not made my harness yet & I will take your word over guy at frys who said they did not have the Molex conector, (which they did after I found it) Jordan |
