Title: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: shortrackskater on April 24, 2012, 02:34:53 AM I have another problem that may sound trivial but it's bugging me: I now have three s plussssssses. On my slant top (the one I fried the MPU on months ago), the change light button is illuminated when it's pressed on for change. On BOTH my upright S plus machines, the button light won't illuminate, but the candle will. There's a known working bulb in each one and I've checked wiring, contacts, etc. The only other thing I noticed different was that my slant top blinks, button and candle while both upright candles just stay on constantly. Is this a bulb in the candle issue...do they have "blinkie" light bulbs? I searched here but didn't search from the bulb point of view...maybe I should have done that before starting a new thread but maybe there's other newer members who could have this problem.
Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: Jimise on April 24, 2012, 02:46:27 AM I dont believe that they light up.
I know my upright s+ machines do not. I do not see any wires going to the button. :103- See if Bunker chimes in. I think he modified his once ! :96- Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: cowboygames on April 24, 2012, 02:48:35 AM Nope, no blinky bulbs are used, the mpu controls power to those I believe. You may just have corroded/bad connections inside the bulb sockets on those machines. You could try checking for voltage on the wires going to the switches or do a panel light test from the test menu
Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: shortrackskater on April 24, 2012, 02:58:51 AM I just noticed that on my uprights...the side terminals on the bulb socket are NOT wired but on the slant top, they are.
I bet they don't light up but what's funny is both had nice clean bulbs in them! My wiring and sockets are all clean and corrosion free. My old IGT Fortune One hold/draw buttons were not wired but all had nice "new" 20 year old bulbs in them! :72- Yes...I'd like to hear from any others who may know. I kind of recall having attendants (back when MONEY came out) come up to my machine and press that button when I had accidentally hit it. :25- Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. That bloody little deck ("Service"/ "Change"/ Get Me A Drink" ) button bugged :300- the heck out of me one time and I DID rig it up so it lights up! :89- I'll look :209- at my machine in the morning and see if I can snap a couple of pictures :317- for you guys! to try and show you what I did to alleviate my GBPFM ("Gotta Be Perfect For Me") syndrome... :96- Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: knagl on April 24, 2012, 03:19:03 AM It's weird, but that's how they made the machines -- the slant tops had wiring (and lights) for the Change buttons -- the uprights didn't. I know it's been discussed here in the forum before, although I don't know if that was before the site crashed and burned years ago or not.
Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 24, 2012, 03:21:42 AM I remember hooking it up a couple of winters ago Knagl...
I just don't remember if I posted about it or not but I do recall someone saying something about it in one of my many little video clips somewhere... :129- :128- I don't remember if I used a couple of short jumper wires from the deck button next to it or if I added a single wire into the harness in the door loom to match a slant harness? To go back even further, I do remember looking at my PE+ harness and seeing something in the harness that was different. I remember that I looked at some schematics to see if I could locate the pin on the motherboard = to make an additional line to enable the Service button lamp. It was right around the time I put all those different colored LED lamps in my machine! Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 24, 2012, 03:59:55 AM I found one of my old videos from a different youtube account : stayouttadabunker2
I had lost my password like 3 or 4 times so I went from "stayouttadabunker" to "stayouttadabunker1", then to "stayouttadabunker2", and now I'm "stayouttadabunker3".... :25- You'd think someone at youtube would be able to help me?....NOooOooo! :97- In this machine, I put a small light behind the word "PAYLINE" on the reel glass. I like the way it's lit up! :89- That machine looked really good after I added the blue denomination lighted sticker! :91- I don't think I made a video of it though... :8- That bloody machine one loud noisy reel though... :37- lol ...>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MWqbWDustE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MWqbWDustE) Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I have colored leds in my S+ machines, and my Bally 6000.Look what you started Bunker! :96- Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: shortrackskater on April 24, 2012, 04:15:44 AM I love that light and the scrolling marquee above! I want an S 2000 now!! :37-
Can I add that scrolling thingy on my S plus, where my card reader used to be...the piece below where the payout table is? Hmmmmmm.... I can HEAR that reel! It sounded like my other S plus in my room was playing with itself!!! :72- Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Uh...It IS an S+ !! :30- :72- Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: shortrackskater on April 24, 2012, 05:01:07 AM How do I get the scrolling thingy? Is is hard to install? I've never seen that in a s plus. I had no idea.
Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: Foster on April 24, 2012, 06:20:57 AM I put a Bally MasterCiom 250 Player tracking setup in my S2000.
It not wired to machine You will need a panel made for an S+ the controller and electronics are the same The S+ and S2000 use different hole patterns and the heights is also different for some reason as well. Raz410 has them, he can customize the message for you. Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 24, 2012, 01:51:36 PM How do I get the scrolling thingy? Is is hard to install? I've never seen that in a s plus. I had no idea. I made it from a 12v auto license plate display... :72- Cost about $25 bucks back then...probably dirt cheap now! Anyways, I found it boring to see the "Machine Pays Up To 1000 Coins" insert sticker on the reel glass. So I came up with an idea. See an old thread from a couple of years ago I started as winter was beginning to keep me indoors.... :97- >>> http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=10140.0 (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=10140.0) I took some pictures during lunchtime to show you how to hook up your change button. This will take a couple of more posts...lol The first photo are of my cheap crimp connectors for the wires...>>> Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 24, 2012, 05:17:23 PM Now, 18 gauge wires tin soldered is too large for the Molex's holes on the BET LINE 6-pin display harness.
So, I had to remove a few strands of wire and tin soldered only 3 or 4 of them twisted together. This picture is the difference in size if you don't cut some strands off. Click on it to enlarge if you want...>>> Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 24, 2012, 05:19:18 PM Now I dipped them into some Flux paste and applied some very hot melted solder to the ends...>>>
Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 24, 2012, 05:21:00 PM I then took a very sharp pair of dykes and cut a 45 degree angle of the tinned wires.
This will make insertion of the wires into the power Molex's female receptor holes very easy! You can click on any photo to enlarge...>>> Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 24, 2012, 05:24:35 PM Now the two wires have been tinned and crimped connector tabs installed.
I can shove them onto the switch's lamp tabs and push the whole assembly back into the deck switch body. You will feel or hear a little snap or click which assures you that the switch is clamped into the button body!...>>> Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 24, 2012, 05:30:40 PM Now, dig the black 6-pin Molex out of the door harness loom.
It's located under the deck right by the door hinges! Stick any wire into the hole of this Molex where the powder-blue wire is. The other wire I put into two holes away from the powder-blue one. It will be the gray w/orange striped wire. Whenever I play 3 credits - it will light up the lamp! I don't want it on at all times as it will definitely shorten the life of the bulb. It only comes on whenever I play 3 credits or the "Max" bet button! If you have a 2 coin game installed in your machine, keep the 1st wire in the powder-blue wire hole but move the other wire to the hole that has the gray w/yellow wire. This way, the change light will come on whenever you play 2 coins! Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 24, 2012, 05:54:26 PM Okay...
As you can see...it's a fun little S+ mod for the Change lamp to come on whether you have a 2,3 or 5 coin game installed...>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n1yxMkM1lQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n1yxMkM1lQ) Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do. Post by: shortrackskater on April 24, 2012, 09:15:25 PM Thanks Bunker for all that work making pics and vids! I love that mod and it seems quite easy and more FUN than just having the light go on when you press it! And thanks for the DETAIL too...I've only been soldering again for a year or so and it had been 20+ years...nice to have those little helpful hints. :284-
NOW, the most important question: is there a mod I can do to get a beautiful woman to bring me change when I press the button??? :208- Title: Re: Who cares about the change light? I do.
