Title: S2000 5 REEL SOUND PROBLEM-CAN'T TURN GAME VOLUME DOWN
Post by: vegasbaby on April 26, 2012, 04:29:27 PM
Hi
I have a recently purchased s2000 5 reel CLEOPATRA that i cant get the game sound to turn down.I have gone into the menu system, and got as far as game sound its stuck at 4 LEVEL,i make the necessary adjustments to turn it down, but it always bring the level to level 4,it wont let me take it to 1 or 2 level.
I do have Multimedia lite board installed.setting in the menu says I'm in stereo mode, can i play legacy sound with this game? Do i need to do a clear or key the game.I have made sound changes on my other s2000 using the menu, but for what ever reason, this game wont allow me to make changes.
THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL HELP
MARK

Same way as your other machines. Are you sure all your deck buttons are working?

Yes,all button work and are lit up when playing the game. the menu is not letting make the changes, and when i lower the game volume down to the level i prefer 1 or 2 it takes it right back where i started. Also i would like to change this game sound to the legacy sound,it wont allow me.I have made many of  sound changes via the menu with my other s2000,never thought i would run into this kinda of trouble on this machine.I was wondering if key or clear would help? Will my Cleopatra play legacy sound?
THANKS
MARK

That's a new one to me that it will go to 1 or 2 but not stay.
It takes a smarter person than me to help you there.
I never tried my Cleo on legacy.

If you want just  legacy sounds remove the MM II board or just remove the simm from the MM II.

It has been a while since I played with S2K sounds, but my mind tells me that there is another sound setting like money volume as well that must be turned down too otherwise the other sounds will not set lower.... This may be an iGame thing, and I may just be off my rocker, but it is worth a look!

On my 2000's you can have game volume turned different than money volume.

UNDER OPTIONS

That option is only available on vision and reel touch platforms. Is your money volume set below 4?

Perhaps you have an incorrect sound simm?

Thanks,

If the machine is a vision then you have to set the volume in the lcd game volume.

He stated early on that it's a Cleopatra, no vision theme there

He stated early on that it's a Cleopatra, no vision theme there

Cleo is available as a vision game and he also states he has 2 menues one of which is LCD volume.

:72- lindam1 is the responder that mentioned the other LCD volume in Reply#10 that you would see in the Vision platform -
that's what's confusing some people.

Vegasbaby needs to show us a photo or a better description of his machine's platform.
His posts have only indicated a single volume control option.

All we know at this point is that it's a 5 reel game in some sort of S2000 version.
Could be a Vision machine too?
At this point - we're only guessing.

They made a Cleo vision? I've never seen one, sorry, my bad. He does state that he sets the volume lower and it sets itself back to the number 4 setting. That would be a logic problem either on the main MPU or the top box MPU if it's a vision game and sound is wired to be controlled from there. The vision games I've seen were wired to utilize the main MPU as the volume control source. You have to bypass the main MPU and go directly to the amp board from the top box to utilize the LCD volume control. My experience is pretty limited with the vision platform though, maybe the way mine were wired was the exception and not the rule

I didn't mean to start such a gufufle over Vision &  Non-Vision machines, but both of my S2000's are vision and I knew that Cleo's came in both platforms. I thought I was helping. But so far the problems not fixed.......There has all these posts on whether or not there's a vision platform for Cleo. If Vegasbaby dosen't post a pic soon this will be the longest non-productive thread in NLG history.

I'm sure with his experience that Idesign is right about there being a vision version of Cleo, I've just never seen one, but like I said, irregardless of how his volume is controlled, if he's setting it down to say 1 or 2 and as soon as he exits programming it returns itself to 4 then he has some type of logic issue. I know if you turn the money volume down below game volume it will automatically set itself back at a level to match or exceed game volume. I've never had the problem the other way before as game volume being lower than money volume is a common setting. I don't know if he's tried setting both money and game volumes both to 1 or 2 yet though. And somebody correct me if I wrong here, but I don't beleive there is a money volume option in cases where the LCD volume is used as the control. I beleive that option is only available from the main MPU menus

I just reread his origional post. He's adjusting volume from the MPU, he's gotten into multimedia settings and it kinda sounds like he either doesn't have enhanced sounds turned on or maybe he has a multimedia board with no simm installed

Cowboy,
I think you're right, there is only a money vol. in the main options. LCD only has 1 vol. choice.
You can see a Cleo Vision on youtube. i think there might be 2. 1 is from Jim at Bettor

Just a thought but are you hitting spin to confirm you choice? I think that if you hit spin it goes back to where it was set last.

Make sure you go to the volume level you want and then hit bet max to exit and select.

May not be the trouble but sometimes we "Over Tech" a very simple issue.

HI
Once i get to the volume sound area, its at level 4, i push the button to get to the desired sound,it gos to  5,6,7,8,9,10 loudest then  once past 10 it will go to the level four sound where i started. The screen will not show any level 1,2,3, sounds. If i could ever get the level 1 sound,i would save it by pushing the spin.
THANKS MARK

There must be some threshold sound setting, I would try to set all volumes as low as they will go and see if you can then make changes.

The problem is the machine will not let me get to the desired sound level of 1-2-or 3 ,it will not even show those low sound levels.Once i start to adjust the sound level it go upwards to 10,then back to level 4 my start point. So i cant save it.

Does your machine have an LCD bonus round display in the top of the game or is it just a standard 5 mechanical reel setup?

Is there a simm card in the socket of the multimedia board? What SB and SG chips are installed in the game?
If it turns out you have a multimedia board, but no simm or even if it has a simm, try removing the multimedia board from the machine and making the adjustments again. You may have a bad/missing simm causing the problem.

Also, if it has a simm, please post the simm number for us

The sound on that vision isn't very good and not because of the way the video was taken. It seems like IGT just didn't synchronize it to the game very well. Thanks for posting the videos Bunker :259-

Try removing the multimedia board from the MPU and see if you can then adjust volume. Do you have an enhanced sound option for reel spin  or reel stop sounds?

You can make sound adjustments on the S2000 with credits on it
While credits on it you cant use a key chip, adjust limits and some other things.
