Title: D/D mine...Odd reel spin sound
Post by: lindam1 on April 28, 2012, 10:38:24 AM
I have a D/D Mine (Vision), when the reels spin there is a putt putt putt sound in the background. All other audio is perfect. Any thoughts.

Thanks Lindsay

I think that's some feedback from the reels going through your audio lines
and being amplified with the amp board.
You need to do the resistor mod on the top-box white speaker wires with 10 to 47 ohm resistors.
10 ohms to 47 ohms...not 10k!!! (thousands)
You may also need one on the ground wire for the tray speaker wire.

Seems like everyone's is a little different.
I tried 47 ohms but it was too much....just 10 ohms of resistance was good enough to clean up my sounds.

bunker,
I thought of that, but This one (D/D Mine) does not use the LCD sound  for the reel spin. Only the bonus feature uses the LCD sound. The reel spin is the regular IGT sound they all use. My other vision...all the sound come from the LCD snd.

You think the "putt, putt, putt..." sound is the train dollies rolling down the tracks?  :103-

You got a MMLB2 board in there with a DSV00042 SIMM card?
Take it out and try it.
Take out the whole MMLBII board - I don't think the DD Mine game uses it anyways.

That putt, putt, putt sound may be something rubbing also. Remove and inspect each reel for loose wires or anything that might be hanging in the way of the spin. Hold each one in your hand and spin it from the side to see if one of them makes that sound

I've had a couple of reels where one of the spokes of the reel basket was hitting one of the backlit bulb sockets.  Bench grinder shortened up the socket and no more noise.

This is audio, from the speakers, not physically coming from the reels. could the snd chip be bad?? Coin in, Win paid, Max bet all have perfect snd.
