Title: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - USPS - First Class - DON'T!!!!! Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on May 03, 2012, 03:56:19 PM Just learned a bitter lesson - do not send items Internationally using 1st class - it is cheap for the buyer - BUT - there is absolutely no tracing or accountability - if the customer says he did not get it - well - you lose.
Title: Re: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - USPS - First Class - DON'T!!!!! Post by: CVslots on May 03, 2012, 04:04:25 PM Good to know Barry, but sorry to hear how you learned it. No good. Its hard enough to please Domestic customers, since the moment you ship a package, you relinquish control of it. International orders even more so.

Title: Re: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - USPS - First Class - DON'T!!!!! Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on May 03, 2012, 08:11:18 PM it MAY BE hung up - BUT - there is no way to know - and impatient customers push the DISPUTE button on PAYPAL first
Title: Re: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - USPS - First Class - DON'T!!!!! Post by: cowboygames on May 03, 2012, 08:21:50 PM Sorry you learned the hard way Barry, hope it's the last time. Maybe a little more info so other sellers can avoid this customer in case it's some type of scam.
Title: Re: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - USPS - First Class - DON'T!!!!! Post by: channelmaniac on May 03, 2012, 09:05:11 PM You DO have proof of shipping if you enter the short form Customs # into the USPS Tracking page.
Just not proof of delivery. RJ Title: Re: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - USPS - First Class - DON'T!!!!! Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on May 03, 2012, 09:59:56 PM proof of shipping means nothing per PAYPAL - customer says he did not get it - thats enough for them
Title: Re: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - USPS - First Class - DON'T!!!!! Post by: Foster on May 03, 2012, 11:37:27 PM Sorry to hear you got burned
I wonder if using registered or certified mail would have helped in this case one or both you get a post card with their signature on it. Title: Re: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - USPS - First Class - DON'T!!!!! Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on May 04, 2012, 04:17:05 PM the ONLY options are PROOF OF MAILING (big deal the customs doc does that) or REGISTERED MAIL for $12.00. NO INSURANCE OFFERED.

Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on May 04, 2012, 07:58:28 PM i find DHL is GREAT for large shipments into the US - they are cheaper and faster than UPS (UPS also ads a last minute HANDLING CHARGE - which DHL does not). For SMALLER orders out of the country USPS PRIORITY is the way to go but it is alot pricier than 1st class.

Title: Re: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - USPS - First Class - DON'T!!!!! Post by: idesign on May 04, 2012, 08:39:06 PM TNT is cheaper than all of them. And you get a tracking number, even for economy shipping. Problem is I hear UPS is acquiring them.

Hey Buzz, I think what he was saying is the USPS Priority mail will give you the tracking options and is more reliable than just International First Class. However you will pay for that extra service and security.I ordered some LED's from overseas and after 30 day the shipper returned my money. I then place the order to a USA supplier. Got the stuff and all was good. 30 days latter (about 65 days from the order) I got the overseas shipment. If it would have washed up on the shore after the tsunami it would have been quicker. Title: Re: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - USPS - First Class - DON'T!!!!! Post by: idesign on May 04, 2012, 11:08:06 PM There is no tracking on International Priority Mail either. Only US Domestic. The only way to track international is EMS which is very expensive.
