Title: Do I need a set chip or a clear chip to disable the ticket printer on a DD 2000?
Post by: BR549 Auto Sales on May 05, 2012, 03:05:30 PM
I am wanting to disable the ticket printer and make the Double Diamond 2000 a credit only game so that it does not show the cash amount in the display, just credits. I know on my s2000 machines this can be done with a different version chip, so I was hoping I could do the same on this machine.

Thanks,

David

Is it a multi-denom machine? I use a version chip that's multi-denom capable, but have it set for sigle denom and tokenized. No coin value shows in the VFD and it's not split screen. If you key chip it you can disable the printer and set your limits so everything above the limits goes to handpay. There is no corrolation between the printer being enabled and the credit value displaying on the VFD.

Will I need to do a clear first, or just make sure that there are no credits on the machine to keychip it? Also, can I use the same clear and or key chip that I use for my s2000 machines?

As long as it's a reel type machine and not a video machine you'll be ok with your clear/key chips. I beleive I had to clear mine to get rid of the split screen display and re-tokenize it. No biggie, took 10 minutes

Sorry, I was seeing DD2000 and assumed it was a S2000 game and didn't read the header for the topic you posted under. I guess I'm not sure how the I-games work that way

It is an Igame video with no actual reels. The cpu does look the same as the ones in a S2000 machine though. So that beibg said, will the clear and set chips that I already have work?

Thanks

Which version chip do you use to do this?

Try using a 9 series version chip

I'm only guessing that a single denomination version chip beginning with the number "9" after the "VS0" -
does NOT show the dollar amount?
There are "VS011's" that are single denomination as well.

Here's a couple of list's that I've acquired from the internet over the last couple of years.
I even have another list on my work computer but like I said...uh...it's at work... :72-
If anyone has any other Version chip lists that have different ones, send it to me and I will try to condense them all together in a word pad sheet.

I've never thought to try and condense them any.
This is a good place to share with you avid S2000 collector's as any...>>>

That's my fault Buzz, I'm the one that originally replied to this like it was an s2000 post. It threw everyone off...

Are you gonna let Bunker and Foster off that easy ???   Shame, shame on you !!!! Besides I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the version chip has anything to do with the split screen VFD, I think that's all SG chips.

Hell no, I don't let anyone off easy, but I'll take the blame I'm entitled to  :30- I can't guarantee the version chip theory, it's the only thing that got me split tail ...I mean split screen on my S2000 whose name can't be mentioned. Switched from a 9x to an 11x. Then back again because multidenom got boring

If I put a international version chip I loose the split screen and get the play X credits or coins, game over in a full height font across the VFD
Also it does not show the current credit value and multi-denom is disabled
I do know the international chip I used would allow continuous play by holding down the max bet button.

I have not tried the international chip that I have since I installed the touch pad parts.
I am not sure what the denom lighting would do using that chip.
I think I could pick a blank currency symbol in the key config but it did not change the one printed on tickets or displayed on the Spectrum II.
I guess I will have to see how the 598 likes the chip I have on hand.

I will have to agree with Ron. The Game in question is a Double Diamond 2000 I Game 45 credit video, not reel slot machine. I just want to set it for hand pay options, and for it to be a credit only game, not showing in denominations or cash value on the screen. Hopefully the clear and or the key 31 chip that I already have.

Thanks,

David

You can try that 31 key chip but the Guide Document shows a 17, 22 or 40 for I-Games, depending on your chips.
Looks like a 40 might be your best bet. And maybe a 28 if it is has a 044 processor.

The 31 is for S-2000 with a SG000363 or higher chip.

as far as the 044 processor, the cpu is the stndard, non enhanced type without the piggyback board. Where would i get a key 40 chip? also, as far as the 28 chip goes, would that be the clear chip?

Check with one of our venders or place a WTB for a 40 key chip..

Guide Document shows the 28 key chip as a clear/key chip. :103-

I'm sorry ...
I apologized for my post above....
I learned the hard way I guess is what I'm really trying to say.
In the end...you MIGHT need them both plus more -
there's no end to this insane hobby.  :5-

I think I would do a search and figure out exactly which one I needed before ordering a chip.
