Title: HELP, 3 reel 4th video reel
Post by: lindam1 on May 10, 2012, 10:52:33 PM
I have a Sparkling Diamonds right out of the casino. I can access the menu to see all the settings, but I can not change any settings because the machine was pulled off the floor with credits left on it. The error I have a "comm host error". I can turn off the host setting cause of the credits. Is there any way to clear or reset the mother board to factory so I can change settings. I was going to remove the batteries, but am unsure if I will just add to my problem. I'm hoping somebody knows something about this evil "K" machine.
Thanks Lindsay   :103- :103-

you'll need an EL key to clear and reset the machine. Any chance it came with one? Does it still have the player tracking stuff in the top box?

Cowboy,
I,m gonna assume the EL key is a chip that will replace another to clean the machine (like Bally). I'm sure it did not come with one as is no spare pts. laying inside anywhere
I'll have to look up top to see if the tracking box is there.

The EL key actually looks like a coin battery with a plastic little handle on it. It goes into a socket on the leading edge of the MPU located just beneath the reels behind a drop door. You insert it and leave it in till programming is complete, then remove and play :89-

Elusive is the "key" word for that key. They generally go for $200 plus, but the've been found for less. There was an ad on here a couple weeks back where someone had 3 for sale, but I don't remember who it was. Best bet would be to borrow one if you can. I had one, but I sold the machine to a lawyer here in town and it's gone now, sorry :8-
