Title: S2000 not starting up, lights, but not going into self test mode. Post by: Roninva on May 16, 2012, 07:38:23 PM Hello
I have a King Cash S2000 IGT game. It has been working great and hasn't been moved for about 6 months. I turned it on today, got a door error. Opened the door, closed it, and now nothing is on the display and when I turn it off and turn it back on, it doesn't even go through the self test mode. Nothing lights up other than the lower half of the game. (reels and buttons and such, but not the vacuum display or the top bonus portion. Where do I start to look? Are there any LED's illuminated on the front of the MPU tray? Not a complete list. When you close the door, none of the harnesses are getting pinched. Pull the MPU out about 1-2" and slide back in carefully but firmly. Might have to remove the reels (They pull straight out) to do the same to the Power Supply Loosen the screw on the left end of the power supply remove and re-install the pwer supply All you have to do is slide it left about 1" and then back into place. Tighten the screw when done. Next there are 2 I/O boards to remove and re-install, like you did with mpu and power supply One is on the front side of the inner door panel you can see it just below the VFD mounted at an angle. The other one is located on the MPU Cover You do not need to unplug the connectors going into the top or front of them just pull out about 1/2" and re-install them. Check every plug in the machine to be sure it is plugged in properly. There may be a few that are not connected if these items are not installed in your machine: Bell, Printer, Hopper, pay line light box, etc Especially check the ones in the top box, Title: Re: S2000 not starting up, lights, but not going into self test mode. Post by: Roninva on May 18, 2012, 02:33:32 AM Well, that fixed it. Unplugged and plugged as many things as I could get to and turned it back on and its all working again. Thanks for the advice. Wasn't sure if there was a bank of fuses hiding somewhere like the other ones that seem to have 3 -4 fuses.
Thanks :D Title: Re: S2000 not starting up, lights, but not going into self test mode. Post by: Foster on May 18, 2012, 03:16:01 AM You're Welcome
Depending on when the AC Distribution box was made it will have fuse or circuit breaker along the top edge of it. It is the metal box mounted on the back wall with a ribbon cable coming from the mother board. there is a small 12V/5V power supply in that box that has fuse on it. The Power Supply behind the reels has a least one fuse. Various boards in the machine will have a fuse on them, but unless you are familiar with Surface Mount Devices you might not know they are there. Big hint most of them are white and have a marking like 250V 1A on them and F1 near them |
