Title: BlueBird Dual Screen Games
Post by: jdkmunch on May 18, 2012, 12:13:38 PM
Does anyone know if there is a way to get the top monitor to display some graphic if you are using a single monitor game?

I'm thinking if I have Zeus in - I could have a Zeus logo on the top monitor -

I don't know if it's possible or not

Yes, have a nxt2 processor/ logic box in and an os and game that is nxt2 playable.
Otherwise a regular bb dual screen is not possible to put a still image on the top screen for a single screen game.

I'm sure a cheap $20 fleabay laptop in the topbox with a VGA output could handle that?  :128-
There's nothing special about WMS BB LCD monitors is there?

There is always something special  :30-

The BlueBird top lcd las a logic board with a compact flash slot.

Because I'm only interested in a few dual screen games -  I think I can remove the logic board - install it in the cabinet and run a vga cable from that
to a regular LCD monitor.

BTW -  I'll never change my blue bird to incorporate the top monitor now that I know it won't display images for non dual screen games.   I think it would look stupid sitting there 95% of the time not used.

Not using a laptop.  But any LCD will work as long as you have the video interface board that holds the CF card.

Yea, it took me awhile to find the glass and reef for it.  Lighting it up was another project.

If I have a Goldfish 2 machine as pictured below that has the operational upper screen, will it play the new version of Invaders from the Planet Moolah, and Invaders from the Planet Wombat (they need the upper screen to display the progressives and free spins count).  And does anyone know where or have the game software available? Also interested in the Dean Martin Vegas Shindig game or Zeus III, and will those work on it also?

Photo is missing you referenced.  All the games you mentioned are BB2 only games.  So that is the minimum requirement to play them.

I have to say -   I'm new to this BB thing too  --  I love the platform and the games but

First I have to say the price for the WMS stuff is way expensive

Second there are so many quirks that come up it is frustrating (at least to a newbie like me)
For instance -  I recently tried to play a game I purchased with SSG1410 and the thing doesn't boot -

the newer OS does a lot more stuff at startup but then it goes totally black and dead.

That sounds like you don't have the latest BIOS required for that OS.

I probably don't because I don't even know where the chip is this machine -
which we'll start in another thread for another day -  (and i'll really apprecieate your help in getting it upgraded  :3- :3- :3- :3- :3- :3- :3-)

I've put in one of my favorite games for the time being.

I'm worried because I did purchase this from fleeeeeeBay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/300710613231?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1109 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/300710613231?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1109)

and I've never used a game using OS 1902 and I hope it works cause ---- sheeps is one of my favorite games

The cards are matched so they should work fine.
