Title: IGT S+ - what is this TOGGLE for? Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on May 23, 2012, 06:14:38 PM found this toggle on a S+ - has something to do with the coin comparitor - dollar comparitor - the toggle is mounted on the inner light panel - 2 wires - one goes to the comparitor harness pin 2 (black wire) and the other goes to the pin 7 on the harness (orange/purples?). sorry about the pics - any idea what this is for?

Not exactly sure why the Casino put them on.... The ones I ran into just turned the coin mech ON or OFF while the door was closed and "in play" mode.

Perhaps some casinos found it easier to disable S+ machines by simply flipping a switch to disable the CC rather than paging through the menus to get to the Out Of Service page.

That would effectively disable the coin mech but wouldn't that cause a [21] error code? Title: Re: IGT S+ - what is this TOGGLE for? If it's only cutting power to the coin comparator, it shouldn't create an error -- the machine doesn't know if there's a comparator there, just coin-in optics. I just disconnected a coin comparator on Frankenstein (my test rig) and the MPU didn't shoot out any errors. However, the second I disconnected the coin-in optics, the MPU threw out an error code [21] - even with the coin comparator still hooked up. |
