Title: E 1208 shaft/piston adjustment? Post by: BR549 Auto Sales on May 25, 2012, 10:26:28 PM Can you tell me how to fix or adjst that when I pull the handle all the way down, it will not engage the reels unless I give it a final downward push? Also, when the handle returns to the ready position, if I don't push it forward a little bit more (towards the back of the machine), the reels will not be able to engage when I pull the handle again, if there is any fix or adjustment to that too. Thanks, David Title: Re: E 1208 shaft/piston adjustment? Post by: BR549 Auto Sales on May 26, 2012, 12:30:18 AM I read on a post where Amachanic (Gary) said to remove the plastic cylinder and clean and to get rid of the guumed up rubber cupped end and lightly oil the inside of the clean plastic cylinder. I did that and still have the same results, I actuate the reels but the shaft/cylinder does not come back to the ready position, only if I give it a nudge in the right direction myself will it return back. What else could I do to get this PITA reel adjustment to work properly?

Post by: Amachanic on May 26, 2012, 01:35:04 AM David, It sounds like all the shafts and small levers and links in and under the reels need a good cleaning and oiling. I just had to do this to a machine that had been not used for a while. Start with the back shaft, you have bushings at each end and 3-4 links and spacers between them. There are a bunch of smaller dog bone looking links and levers that stop and kick the reels. They should all slide freely from side to side and be able to pivot on there shafts. Don't forget to oil where the half gears go through the side of the reels mech. If you take your time you will find 30-40 places to oil. I have a plastic bottle that has a long nozzle that can reach into tight places. I picked it up at my local harrware store. It's call Zoom Spout.. It has a very light weight oil and has worked well on these machines. I hope this helps.

Post by: BR549 Auto Sales on July 06, 2012, 04:18:23 PM I have dis assembled both top and bottom shafts and cleaned and oiled them as well as all of the smaller pieces in the middle areas. Still seems to be doing the same thing, I have the assembly out of the machine, would it return to the start position better if it was in the game itself? Does the actual handle of the machine help the piston to return to the ready position? Also, can someone send me a picture of the position of the 2 sprokets on their machine so that I can make sure I have mine set back in the proper location?
