Title: Question on Hopper Brake part
Post by: sblair on May 28, 2012, 03:28:56 AM
I've got an S+ hopper that the little white plastic piece that the hopper brake hooks into and connects to the brake spring that has broken.  What is the correct name for that part and/or an IGT Part #?  I want to make sure I'm getting the right thing.

Just to be clear, it's not this part of the brake, but the other small plastic piece that the spring connects to:  http://na.suzohapp.com/gaming/gaming_parts/70082500.htm

Thanks.
Scott

Unfortunately, the flat pieie of plastic that has the little hole for the brake pawl spring is part of the assembly for the motor's coil windings.
Did that "hole" break off?

I would "McGiver" this as all what you're trying to do is pull back on the brake pawl.
You could tie a small, short string from the spring loop to the electrical tab on the left side of the coil base.
It has a white wire with a red stripe.
The string would conduct electricity but still secure the spring to pull back on the brake pawl.

I made pretend my "hole" was broken off and attached a small rubber band
to the brake spring to the back of the coil base to show you what is a possible temporary fix.
I would use a piece of string though - as the heat around that coil pack might melt the rubber band!  :72-

It wasn't that part that broke, it was the other end where the spring connects that broke off.  The plastic piece closest to the brake pawl.  Does that piece have a name or part #?

oh...
Mine's red.
Hmm...have you tried Rudy's Deals?
John's a great guy to deal with.
If you direct them to this thread...I'm sure they'd have what you're looking for.

By the way, I call it the piece next to the brakes...  :72-
