Title: BALLY E-SERIES BOARD - anyone know what it is used for?
Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on May 28, 2012, 01:59:14 PM
I am stumped on this one - I have a box of these E series boards that are unlike anything I have seen before - the board uses the 2650 cpu - looks kinda sorta like a E2000 but there are no 5101 cmos - there are no personality chips - etc.  They dated 1988/89 which is just about the time 5000s started - any of you old slot techs seen this one?

did the machine have a BV or Tracking on it?  thats the only thing I can think of that would have required a board like this.

this is a later board made way into the E2000 series - again this is not a standard board - I have been working on E-series for a long time and have never seen a game with this board but did get them with a load of e-series that  had a large and I mean LARGE contraption mounted on the handle side - not sure if it was for tracking - or sms or ????

do u have a pic? that would really help  it might b some crossover board they made to make it compatible with a newer Technology sorta like the adapters to let the old PE's have BV's  i found a pic of one that matches yours exactly they are on Ebay   what chip#'s are on the EPROMS??  i could maybe find a description of what They  do somewhere  these will accept more than one type of program  so maybe these were set up for something unusual maybe bingo with the light pen ??  this is a good one
