Title: Run For Your Money, leaned it, not the top lights don't work! Post by: Roninva on June 15, 2012, 01:22:34 PM Ok, I bought a Run For Your Money Barcrest game in December. Lots of lights were out, still are, and the sound to the bonus feature rarely works.
Today, I took the top box out and cleaned it with circuit board cleaner since there were layers of dust covering resisters and heat sinks. I put it all back together, hoping that the bonus feature sound would work and it was just a bad connection. It didn't work and what is worse now, the lights for the feature don't work. The feature works and the display works and tells you how much the bonus paid, but no lights going in a circle to see it land on the amount. ? Any suggestions? I have tried to reseat the blue cables and it hasn't made any difference. Any suggestions? Title: Re: Run For Your Money, leaned it, not the top lights don't work! Post by: cowboygames on June 15, 2012, 02:03:47 PM I'd start by checking all plug connections from the back left corner of the top box to the bonus round backplane

I took all connections off the MPU4 and the sound board and power supply to clean the circuit boards. Going to try again just to see. I don't think I can plug anything in the wrong spot, since they are mostly specific to how many pins and where it can reach.

I was putting the power supply back in and saw that the one connector toward the middle on the edge was bent. Didn't think anything about it, just figured it was bent a little. Putting the connector back in the second time, I paid attention and noticed the connector was straight. Well, I was putting it UNDER the pins, not INTO the pins, thus, no power for that portion.
Yeah, now it is documented that I do dumb things :208- Title: Re: Run For Your Money, leaned it, not the top lights don't work! Post by: knagl on June 15, 2012, 04:53:44 PM Hey, that's great that it was an easy fix. Congrats on getting your machine back up and running.
