Title: S2000 MPU Board Question
Post by: Jake777 on June 18, 2012, 02:22:48 AM
Hi Happy Fathers Day to All
My question starts with an earlier post of having some  sound problems with my vision machine. With much appreciated help from other members one of the troubleshooting suggestions was to replace my MPU board. I purchased one, changed all the chips from my old board into the newer one. When I placed it in the machine, I get "Verifying app start" then "Call Attendant". The top box displays display initializing and the top candle is flashing on both segements. Is their something I must do to tell the machine that it is a newer board or do I have bigger problems.

i have personally dealt with Jim at Blueridge when needing parts for a friends machine and i highly recommend him; his prices are good and shipping quick.  he's a member here so just click on his banner or shoot him an email.
once you get your keychip we can all help guide you through setting up your machine; once you get used to using the buttons to navigate the menu it's not too tough.  wouldn't hurt to post up your SG version so we can check the psr to let you know which keychip you will need. (probably 17 or 31 since you have a vision)  post up your SB version too and you might find a helpful par sheet in your inbox!!

Thanks
Sent Blueridge Slots a note. I assume the sg chips are the stepper game chips. The ones I removed from my old board and placed in the new board were sg000123 game 1 and game 2. The new board did come with these chips and they were sg00598 game 1 and 2 I changed them out figuring that all the chips from the old board should stay together, but did that really matter? I'll post again when the chip arrives. My vision chip is a vs009vxo if that is needed also.

yep SG stands for Stepper Game & SB stands for Stepper Base!

i would leave the 598's in your game.  whats your SB version?  we can check to make sure your SB is compatible with the 598 (probably is).

Update
Blueridge slots help me work thru my Call Attendent" error without a key chip. The machine runs the same as when I started, still no sound when reel wins are credited, max bet button pushed or when bv accepts bills. I switched out the sg chips to the 598's and that gave me a system error. I put the 123's back in. I read in a past post, are some of the sounds stored on the mother board, I know that most of my sounds are coming from the top box.
