Title: wba 12 will not download
Post by: brianfink on June 22, 2012, 01:41:05 AM
I recently was updating some wba 12's with a dt104 download tool and a couple of them would not work the download lights were flashing I had dip 7,8 on the download tool says device ready but will not go past the eraseing stage. When I put the wba back in the machine it still works. Anyone have any idea's?

When you say it wouldn't go past the erase stage, I assume you mean the flashing LEDs next to the dip switches went solid and never changed. There are a couple of things that happen before download commences. One of the first things is checking to see that the memory is the correct size. You can't load a WBA-12 program into a WBA-10.
Communications is also checked. If the unit cannot write to memory, the download will abort. Are you getting any of the Error lites on the DT-104? If not, and you're sure its the right program, I would guess there is a problem with the EEPROM that holds the program. For some reason it can no longer be written to. Not a really common problem, but it does happen.
