Title: Game change problem - Am i missing something?
Post by: CVslots on June 22, 2012, 05:33:50 PM
Ok, sold a couple S+ game kits to a guy and having some issues with one of them. Game is a 3 cm Royal Flush. Customer changed from a Strike! using an SP872 on a 10mhz board. Installs SS3840 (leaves SP872 in) and is saying SS chip is working, but not paying correctly (paying when it shouldnt, not paying when it should). Sent a 2nd SS chip, SS3841 ( maybe chip was corrupt?). Same results, wacky payouts...But whats the chance of me having 2 bad chips for the same game? This is the first one I've EVER had!  :60-

My first thought was the strips are either wrong or not in correctly. Strip numbers verified correct and in correct order (per customer). So that only leaves alignment?

Customer seems familiar enough with game changes, so I do not think its user error?  :103-

So what are your guys' thoughts? Am i forgetting something here?

I would ask him if the winning pays actually match up to pays on his award glass mathematically, if so I would have him re check the order of his reel strips. If he insists that they are in the correct order, have him look at the payout and see what it matches on the award glass and remember what it is (preferably not a common hit like mixed bars, etc.) then turn the game off, re arrange the reels to whatever payout he had and power the game back up. It will return the reels to the winning combination and he can see if his guess was right. Seems like a bit to do but I believe it may work. i had this problem one time when i could not read the numbers at the bottom of some strips that I had on a game.

Maybe hes not getting the 61-1? He needs to force it into a 61-1....we've had games not automatically do it, for whatever reason...

Ok, will report back.

David - thanks for the idea, the guys gonna think im nuts if i ask him to do that...im not certain why that method even works, after the maiden spin anyway? Hmmm...i'll keep it in mind though.

OK here is the PAR for the SS3843 which is the same as the 3841, different odds, Have him match the strip symbols for you.

Or...he can punch in the reel stop numbers of  "20,18,18" in the reel strip tests
and 3 Joker's Wild symbols should show up on the Pay-line.

Did this game pay out correctly before?
Is it an upright machine with slant reel baskets?

We had the same thought Bunker, about slant reel baskets, but them he said game was working fine when the last game was in it.

He said he had 2 sets of reels strips for the game, so reel strips seem good.

Haven't heard back from him in 48 hours.... :103-
