Title: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 01, 2012, 02:01:38 PM trying to save TRYING diff. bills on various BV - anyone have a listing of the ID and Ver with the bills they process? thanks.
Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: CVslots on July 01, 2012, 08:37:12 PM I thought i was the only one who didnt have a list! I just thought it was a secret.
Good to know I'm not alone on this one. -Roslyn Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 08, 2012, 11:06:32 AM i guess I need to take a different approach as no one seems to want to part with their knowledge.

I would sure hope that is NOT the case. :60- ...as i thought that was one of the main reasons/goals of the site. I do not have much to contribute on BVs unfortunately, as i am just now able to decipher the hardware and version codes (as the pile of validators around me grows more daunting). I did, however, find the link to the JCM website to be extremely helpful though (thanks to JCMtech for posting that)!!! On the different versions of software (ex. 3.60, 3.75), i was able to determine what bills that version would accept, which was VERY helpful. -Roslyn Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: JCM Tech on July 09, 2012, 05:20:10 AM IF it's JCM software information your looking for head on over the their web site http://www.jcmglobal.com/en/support/downloads/SoftwareInfo.aspx
The more blanks you fill in the more specific the info. For basic searches I fill in Country (USA) hardware, (DBV-200, WBA) stacker type (if known) and Protocol. If your not sure which protocol you need, check the Software protocol page http://www.jcmglobal.com/en/support/downloads/protocols.aspx With those three or four things you will get a list of all software ever made for that application starting with the newest to the oldest. Clicking the blue software link will get you the software information sheet. This has a list of the bills the software will take as well as a listing of all changes since the previous versions. Dip switch information is also listed. As always if you have any specific information you are looking for, feel free to shoot me an email. Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 09, 2012, 02:35:43 PM moving on - now that I/we have info regarding the software for the JCM - the next monkey is the SP and CPU - my JCM200 12v 5va with IDO 22/23 v2.40.0403
Does not accept bills ($ bills reject after approx 3 seconds) using a 16mhz cpu with SP1145 and SS4808 (RWB deluxe) BUT BV works on a 10mhz with SP1271 instead of the SP1145 The PSR for SP1145 states type 5 will work (4th of JULY) - this is RWB deluxe - GAME WORKS in this config (16mhz) EXCEPT for the BV!!! The PSR for the SP1271 states the same TYPE 5 (4th of JULY). I did try the SET90 on the 16mhz to no avail. SET15 run on both boards. Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: CVslots on July 09, 2012, 03:59:24 PM What is the chip speed on the 1145 you are using? Thats the only thing that you didnt list. 16mhz has to have a SP that is 120ns or faster. Just eliminating possibilities.... :103-

That can vary with SP chips. <edit> I see both the 1271 and 1145 are "supposed" to be IDO-023 Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: CVslots on July 09, 2012, 06:32:45 PM sorry 150 on the sp So that may be it?!?!? Since it has to be 120 or faster? -Roslyn Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 09, 2012, 06:42:06 PM i thought 150 was faster than 120?
Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: poppo on July 09, 2012, 06:42:28 PM So that may be it?!?!? Since it has to be 120 or faster? It "could" be. But using too slow of a chip would normally cause other problems and not just the BV not working. Typically the game would either not work at all or do all sorts of strange things. And the BV is more or less "self contained". All of the validation takes place on the unit. If it's taking the bill and then rejecting it after a few seconds, it sounds like something else is wrong. Perhaps a limit setting etc. <edit> The lower the number, the faster the speed. Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: Neonkiss on July 09, 2012, 06:53:50 PM i thought 150 was faster than 120? NO.... :60-Lower the number the faster the chip. This is rated in seek time. More time equals slower chip. Too bad you sold me all your slow 90n's chips :96- Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: CVslots on July 09, 2012, 07:00:57 PM Worth a shot! It was just the only finding i came up with based on what Barry's experiencing. Might be worth eliminating? -Roslyn Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 09, 2012, 07:50:32 PM learned something else - great - lower the number the faster. okay - BUT - the only issue with the 16mhz board was the BV - the game works SO - I will try a 120 or lower SP and see what happens. I assume that if the 27c64 has no suffix (-150) then that is the fastest chip?
Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: poppo on July 09, 2012, 08:12:57 PM I assume that if the 27c64 has no suffix (-150) then that is the fastest chip? No, you can not assume that. Actually I might assume it was the slowest - like before they started labeling them. Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 09, 2012, 08:54:52 PM thanks all - will try to find the right speed in my stash of eproms and give it another go.
Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 13, 2012, 03:36:33 PM no luck - I have tried my collection of 16mhz boards - different games - different BV - and YES 120ns 27c512 - in almost all cases - a dollar bill gets rejected after about 3 seconds - you can hear the speaker volumn up/down then out comes the ONE - larger bills just reject. I used SP 1145, SP1146 and SP1311 - matching to correct type of SS chip. I tried 1v 5v and 15v heads - and various levels of versions. And the games function - just the BV doesn't - AND the games and BV all work with 10mhz Guess my idea of using up my 16mhz boards is a washout.
Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: poppo on July 13, 2012, 03:40:15 PM Might try doing a clear. I know it's discouraged, but there have been posts about a clear fixing bill acceptance issues. Maybe more so because of the swapping of 16mhz and 10mhz "confusing" the EEPROM.
Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 13, 2012, 06:31:51 PM i did do a dreaded clear at one point - and made sure that the settings for limits were correct - still the ONE DOLLAR bill issue is the killer
Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: poppo on July 13, 2012, 06:47:44 PM I know this is probably basic stuff for you, but are you sure you "saved" the denomination by pressing the self test button one more time after the denomination, but did not cycle back around to the start of the SET which will reset it to zero?
Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 13, 2012, 07:27:14 PM thanks - made it 5c as one of the sp says 1c 5c.
Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: Jim on July 13, 2012, 08:06:33 PM Barry,
I just looked at the bible on NLG. for a RWB Deluxe game I do not see a SS4808 listed for a two coin or a three coin. Is that the right chip for that game??? If it is, then the only thing that would prevent it from working would be the protocol. From the number given, it is an older SS number, maybe the protocol is IDO-022, then switch #10 on the head should be on. rwb deluxe is a nudge game, fourth of July is also a nudge game with a added spin till you win feature if you get the fourth of July symbol. Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: poppo on July 13, 2012, 08:25:32 PM Jim,
I don't have a SS4808 on my list. Maybe a typo for SS4868? As for the ID, isn't that a SP fuction? And both the SP1271 and Sp1145 are supposed to be IDO-023. But back in post 10, I asked about that. Not sure if he tried changing it or not. Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on July 14, 2012, 12:00:57 AM sorry jim - i went to other SS chips - type 0 type 2 tried mixing and matching with various SP that supposedly work with specific types - trying to narrow down the issue - in all cases - the problem is the 16 board not recognizing the BV - I give up - sorry - I have enough 10 mhz boards that WORK so the 16s I will use in games that do not have a BV - problem solved.
Title: Re: DBV200 - software lisings Post by: CVslots on July 14, 2012, 01:49:03 AM Barry, this is no good. You've been messing with this one for a few days now. I hate to see you stop without discovering the underlying cause, but i understand completely. Time is precious, not to mention costly. Its just a shame nothing was resolved. :60-
