Title: e2270 sound
Post by: poof on July 02, 2012, 09:38:58 PM
I have an e2270 with sound.  When i got it, the owner said the sound came on at the wrong times so he turned the volume down.  I did the power tests at the board..all correct.  The volume know was staticy when moved, i just thought the board was bad.  I just got a board from a member and i cant get it to work.  Nothing happens when i  hit the test button.  If i hold down machine reset then the sound test button it will cycle through sounds, the stay on one pitch, but doesnt stop when the door is closed, or when a coin is played.

Any ideas?

Poof, try posting this on the bally reel games, which have the bally 1000, 5000, etc.
EM's didn't have sound boards, and if yours is an EM, then it was a retrofit. In that case, leave it here.
At one time a couple of my fellow mechanics rigged up a tape player to give sounds on wins, but this is before chips came out.
Didn't work that well....
I once put together a complex sound generator chip and assembly for our dollar carousel.  About a month later IGT came out with electronic sound.  Almost sad I never went to work for them.
