Title: DBV-45 to DBV-200
Post by: bobmre on July 12, 2012, 02:36:48 AM
I am trying to upgrade a Red, White and Blue is wild slot machine to use the new bills.  The bill validator that is currently in the machine is a DBV-45-SS-6031-BO22.  From what I have read I need to replace the validator with a DBV-200.  The validator currently in the machine says it 117vac, but the DBV-200 is 12vdc. Im I missing something?

Is there a black plastic box mounted on the BV outer chassis or is the BV mounted outside the machine on the right side?

Also posting a few pictures of the bill validator would be help ID things so we can give you an accurate answer

It looks like the machine is a S+ by the information you posted about the DBV 45 the 022 is ID022 meaning it is for IGT S+ platform.
I am thinking you meant DBV-145 and not DBV-45.
You must match the ID022 or the BV and machine will not communicate.

Getting the latest bills to work in the last dbv-200 upgrade is not going to happen.
IGT and JCM ended upgrades quite a while ago
I forget what is the last bill they added I think it was the previous version of the 10 or was it the 5, I cant remember.

Interesting that it's labeled that way. In any case do you have a slotted power supply like this on the side? If so, then you can use a DBV-200. If not, then you need to upgrade that too.

The latest version of the DBV-200 firware will take everything except the newer coloerd $5s.

It does have a slotted power supply.  What is the most recent version of the prom for the DBV-200 and where would I get it?

For the DBV-200, that would be 2.61. However, keep in mind that the head comes in 2 versions. One with a flash chip that requires flashing the firmware or modifying the head to accept a EPROM (see link below), or the EPROM version that has a socket. Best bet it to try and get a head that already has the current version. A WTB in the classifieds will probably get you what you need.

The DBV-200 will not take newest 100 that is still in limbo.

I have new DBV 200s with V2.6 for $50 plus shipping.

FYI EDIT .. They are new in unopened boxes. I do have to open the box and flash them with V2.6 before shipping.

I already have a DBV-200.  What I need is the updated prom chip.

As noted above, is it a flash version or a socketed EPROM version?

The unit I have is an eprom version.  The eprom that is in it currently is marked DBV-200-SS  ID 022/023  V2.02-03-02 (AB7C).

I just got an IGT S+ machine.   I am trying to convert the DBV-45 to the DBV-200.  I am currently waiting on the update chip for the software and a new power supply since the old validator is 117V and the new is 12V.  My problem is the dip switch settings.  I know or I should say I think that 1 - 6 in Dip Sw1 should be set to off but I'm not sure about 7-10.  I also am not sure about Dip Sw2 settings.
