Please clarify a bit more.

1. You have a PC with the PSP software ? and when starting up PSP you are choosing CON1 from the first menu ?
2. You have programed in a value in PSP and are getting the Checsum Error when pressing F1 (Send) ?
Have you used this PC with the CON1 in the past or is this new ?

Thanks J,
I really appreciate your concern and your coleague who enabled me access PSP manual, well am not new and the computer is an old one we have been using for the last 10years. I have even tested in on another con 1 controller and display and its working fine. Now what i wanted to know a gain is  it possible for the checksum ic to get corrupt because initially all the machine connected to it were increasing the  progressive a part from the fact that it could not communicate at all with the Pc.Now when i tried swapping the checksum ic with another one i lost all my data and the display is just showing #0won.
Hope am a bit clear now.

Hi J,
The checksum error comes when i press  F1 for Send, but when i press F2 for load the PC indicates loading and hangs there till i disconnect the power from the controller.

I hate it when its hangs....ARGHH! I usually reboot it up and everything works again(comm to computer, displays, etc.)
Other than corrupt data, sounds like that con1 controller is dying out...tired, old....like me :72-

I wonder if there's a procedure for "clearing the ram" perhaps that might help restore some agility to that controller?

I have a old CON1 without the 9VDC adapter. As usual all mine are 12VDC so before I buy one, what MA do I need?

The one I'm using is 1.5 Amps, but I think you'd be fine with 1 AMP, I mean there's not much to the controller.  That being said, you can never go wrong if you go high in current.  Most telephone answering machines use 9volt adapters, have you checked up on any old ones just sitting around?

Thanks Rick. Yeah I check for one of those too. I even have a 3.5VDC, but no 9. I'll pick one up from Radio "Slack".

<UPDATE> Found one with 800mA and it works fine.
