Title: Found on Craigs List...Good Deal or Not?
Post by: Nemisio on July 24, 2012, 04:55:16 PM
I found this on Craigs list in SF.  Is this a good deal or not?
 Any info would be appreciated.

That's a nice looking machine. Even in your area, where slots tend to be a little pricey, that's a pretty good price on that machine. You don't generally see that type for much under $1200

I want to add though that based on the way the ad is written, I wouldn't buy it unless I could see it, pay for it and pick it up in person

Hmm ... I think I would question whether it's really 1964.  I think it's more like 1980.   :103-

Here are some similar ads in Las Vegas ...

Based on our inventory of games we have on hand, that model # correlates to early 70s (72-74).   :89-

I would agree but I read somewhere that it was in production from the early 1960's to the early 1980's.  I read that to mean that it was copyrighted in 1964 and not the production date.

That seems to make the most sense.  Any idea if it's worth $900? More? Less?

Sorry, I meant to refer to this post...

Are they expensive because quality machines are difficult to find in California?  Simply an issue of supply and demand?

Partly supply and demand and partly just because that's what the market will bare. A machine in Arizona for $300 might easily fetch twice that in Michigan. That machine in CA might be more expensive in a better economy. Like I said though, based on the ads wording, I would want to do the transaction in person...
