   Touch screen hardware error

I have a 19" Gameking. I tried a different board and received the error touchscreen hardware error. I tried clearing the board and keep receiving the same message. Any insight on what cause's this error? I was getting ready to send the monitor to Ceronix due to a brightness problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on what may cause the error message. I am thinking maybe the touch screen controller. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil

There's a 12v line that powers the touchscreen controller. I would check to make sure you have a good 12v there.  There is the possibility that your controllerdied also, but I tend to bet on the PS first as I had the same problem with my wms machine.

The Touchscreen controller is a NETPLEX device on the GK system.  Other items, such as Dollar Bill Acceptor, ticket printer etc. can load down the NETPLEX and cause other errors.  Obviously, the touchscreen is one of the most important devices on the game.

However, you state that you have change the "Board".  Which board?  Main CPU?  If this is correct, you have a problem with your CPU board which is trying to communicate to the NETPLEX devices in the cabinet.  With another CPU, does it work??

As mentioned above, there is 13VDC supplying the NETPLEX touchscreen controller.  There should be a red LED lit on the board indicating power.

Thanks Cactusjack. I tried a board I bought on Ebay from New Zealand to check out the games, thats when the error came up. I then replaced my original board that was working and the error remained. I think I may have fried the touch screen controler by screwing around and putting the board from New Zealand in. After taking that board back out I noticed it had a different battery than my original board.

Thanks again,

Phil
