I tried a known good working hard drive, unless it could be a wiring problem inside.

I did not, but it is the correct key for the game though. I had the samw problem with the game beeping a long time ago but I forgot what I did to resolve the problem, I think I replaced the motherboard best I can remember.

Could be a bad motherboard or potentially bad RAM. I would have guessed the hard drive as well but if you swapped it with a known working one its obviously not that. My Jade 2 had a HD crash a while back and did what you were describing.

is the ram located on the motherboard? If so, where. Do you know of someone who has any working motherboards for sale or that can repair the one that I have?

Thanks,

David

Yes the RAM is on the motherboard and it takes an old standard PC ram. As far as motherboards go, ebay would be where I would look. I don't know anyone that has a ton of megatouch stuff other than the Megatouch guy and I thought his prices were a little steep. The motherboard should be the same for any megatouch Maxxx (I think)

is it like a memory sick? @ 1/2 " wide and @ 3" long?

Yep... you could potentially have 2 even though most machines have one.

It would look exactly like a computer's memory stick. Should say something like PC-2100 or something like that on it.

I would guess either a bad power supply or dirty pins on ram.  Clean the contacts on the ram with eraser.  My force had a power supply fail and acted like this.  You can test with a standard power supply hooked up outside.

yes the beeping indicates a bad ram chip....sometimes you can reseat the ram and it will be fine.....i have seen them go bad....fairly common with those....
