GameKing questions? « on: September 19, 2006, 03:08:19 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the gameKing, enhanced version/ I agema plus series with the 044 board, which I/Os are needed. I know the backplane/moptherboard is different for the 044 game board. I know of the 1921-A and the 1921-B I/O's, but what is the other I/O number? Which I/O is for the door? Which (2) I/os are for the cabinet? Aslo which model of next generatiionbrand of printers are used in the GameKing/Igame machines. Lastly what Brand and Model flat pannel touch screen monitors are used for replacing the tube monitors in the 19" and 17" GameKing/Igame machines? Thanks, Eric Cactusjack Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #1 on: September 19, 2006, 05:21:21 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just in case no one else answers, I will share what little knowledge of GK I have. I do not think the I/O boards will have changed with the 440. There are different generations of I/O boards but they are mostly related to the cabinet age and style. Early I/O (Switch Panel and Lower Cabinet) were on a tray just like the CPU board and used cabinet wiring leaving the end cap of the tray as well as the mother board to distribute their signals. Later, IGT went to a new approach where the I/O boards were mounted to little pull out holders and used those gray multi row (3 rows of) connectors. All the boards use their SENET serial interfacing back to the main CPU. All signals are the same to any I/O board but each board has a different Address on the SENET device map. The old boards were Addressed by jumpers on the boards. The new boards are addressed by jumpers in the wire harness. Or, by a dipswitch bank on the board (not usually present). These newer boards appeared in "bays" on the lower module assy. The door I/O was later moved to the front door. The lower cabinet I/O board has a smaller gray connector than the Door I/O (formerly part of the Switch Pannel I/O board). A second I/O board was added to the front door for more buttons (like for Video Slots vs Poker). I am not sure what the part numbers are as they seem to vary based on what vendor made them and when. But, if they plug in, they are probably compatible. As to monitors, the GameKing uses a VGA monitor. As to touch screen, it must have a NETPLEX touch screen controller. This is different than the RS232 controllers that Bally and WMS used. The Bally/WMS units interface with no more than TXD, RXD and GND with standard RS232 voltages. The NETPLEX uses a 5 Pin in-line connector with +13V. GND, TXD. RXD, and MRST. The TXD, RXD and MRST are not RS232 signals but are more like IGT's typical Progressive interfacing (opto isolated which is what the +13VDC is for) It also has a 2 pin Connector with power (+13V/GND). The one I have seen uses the 3M Micro Touch style Touchscreen. Here is an auction of a 19" Kortek which claims to be for an IGT AVP (Advanced Video Platform) which as I recall, also used NETPLEX devices. Happ Controls also sell retrofit kits to do the same. Hope this was of some help. I have a few more questions. Hmm. I'm a little bit confused. Does that mean that there are (2) Cabinet I/o's and (2) cabinet I/os on the Enhanced gameKing/Igame plus? I have the I/O boards that are in the little metal pull out trays. Also, Does yourGameKing motherboard/backplane look like this? This is a picture of mine. Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #3 on: September 20, 2006, 11:44:17 AM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boy, I think I am going to have to change my handle. People keep mixing the Captain up with the Jack. No, my motherboard doesn't look like that. I have an old upright which is rather similar but has most of its connectors as right angle ones. I think it is just called a 960 Motherboard. Yours is either Verson 2 or 3 or, you are showing us the 440 type motherboard (which I have never seen). Bare minimum, there must be 2 I/O boards. On mine, the first one is the "Switch Pannel I/O". the second, is the Cabinet I/O. Both were to be mounted on a tray directly oposite the Main Video CPU tray (kind of like back to back). I was actually missing the Lower cabinet I/O so I made one out of a Newer Door/Multi I/O board. Picture attached. This board was originally in one of those little pull out tray modules with metal handle and plastic cover. The Cabinet I/O is used to interface to the meters and the hopper/printer, and I think the DBV. Basically, the only thing I need the Cabinet I/O board for is to clear the Meter Disconnect error (see jumper loop in picture. I have not wired a hopper, DBV or Printer, only a coin head. The switch panel I/O or Door I/O contain the interfacing for the Coin Mech and optic board. I am guessing yours will need the Cabinet I/O (Pull out module). And the door I/O which is actually on the door (pull out module). The Auxilary Door I/O is piggybacked onto the Cabinet I/O tray. This Auxilary I/O is for the added buttons and lights related to the IGame. So far, apparently, I don't need the Super Stepper COMM board (even though I do have one). This attaches to the ribbon cable and is part of the power supply assy. It is used for interfacing to the casino networks and progressive equipment. You will notice my I/O board has a dipswitch on it. Normally, it does not and the wire harness would address it. The same board is used for both Door and Aux Door I/O, just falls on a different address. The Door I/O's have a 32 By 3 Row connector. The cabinet I/O has a much smaller connector. Both, have the white Molex Mini-fit Jr. Connector for the SENET connection. Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #5 on: September 20, 2006, 12:11:53 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry about that Cactusjack. Could you tell me the part number that's on your Multi I/O board and Door I/O baord? Thanks, Eric Cactusjack Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #6 on: September 20, 2006, 12:19:42 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not a problem. From what I can tell, I am better off being mis-identified as the Captain! On an IGT Barcode sticker: P/N 75427802 REV B Part of the top Etch ASSY NO.7542780 Silk Screened by the connector: 960 Door I/O I don't have the metal tray here and it had some other strange number on it. The old Switch Panel Board is labeled: ASSY NO7542520 Paper Tag: 75425201 REV A 2495 GTC Photo Attached. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: Re: Game King Questions Post by: tacman on September 18, 2008, 08:37:19 PM Forrhouse
Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #8 on: September 20, 2006, 03:23:31 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So to clarify things, The multi I/O board partt number iis the one that you have that is labeled: The old Switch Panel Board is labeled: ASSY NO7542520 Paper Tag: 75425201 REV A 2495 GTC Is this correct? Thanks much for your help by the way. Eric Cactusjack Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #9 on: September 20, 2006, 04:29:24 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No. Just drop the Multi name. That is something I picked up by reading through the GK schematics. There is a schematic page (754-278-11) that is called 960 Multi-I/O in the lower box. But the top page is labeled: Input/Output, Door, Board Schematic. And, this is the board that can be the "Primary Door I/O" or the Secondary Door I/O. Which is the first board I listed. Did you get the manual I sent you??? It shows a number of different cabinet style both with, or without the secondary I/O board. CJ Forrhouse Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #10 on: September 20, 2006, 06:48:50 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I did get the Gameking manual from you 821-334-00, but could not find the page you were talking about. I couldn't find any schematics pages in there. Thansk, Eric Forrhouse Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #11 on: September 20, 2006, 07:06:33 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thought i'd better ask this as well. So Iw ould still need the board: The old Switch Panel Board is labeled: ASSY NO7542520 Paper Tag: 75425201 REV A 2495 GTC This is what kind of board? Eric Cactusjack Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #12 on: September 21, 2006, 09:04:02 AM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am not sure what kind of cabinet you are trying to put this stuff in. I, have no cabinet at all and am building this up on a bench set up - to ultimately install in a PE+ cabinet - not an easy task. And, this is the extent of my experience with Game King hardware. I am learning as I go along. The switch panel board is the older version of the Door I/O. It was mounted in a LARGE pull out tray along with the cabinet I/O board. There were a number of mini-fit Jr connectors which would plug into the end-cap of the tray and run the wires to the front door. This put a lot of wires where the door hinge is so IGT later went to putting the door I/O on the door instead. This greatly reduced the wire count and probably a lot of service headaches. With the new design, they ran only about 12 wires to the door, then, the Door I/O could support up to 96 Input/Output/Power connections. This, was a much smarter way of doing things for mass production. The schematics are not part of the Manual I sent. I will have to dig to see where I got them. Currently, I have only hard copy of some of them and don't know where I was when I printed them. I am still not clear on what you are trying to accomplish? Set up a 380X/390X style cabinet, or convert to 440 style hardware. CJ Forrhouse Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #13 on: September 21, 2006, 01:55:55 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am gathering parts to build a few game kings and Have the 044 boards. Now I see. I was confused as to what the switch pannel board was, but now it all makes sense when you say that it was replaced by the Door I/O. Thanks, Eric Cactusjack Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #14 on: September 22, 2006, 01:17:45 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attached is the Door I/O schematic. You will notice there is a chart to the right. It shows the addressing if it is the primary and the secondary Door I/O board. Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #15 on: September 22, 2006, 03:52:09 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks CactusJack. That schematic helps. It gives me a clearer p[icture of what i am trying to do. I am trying to find some 19" gamking Cabinets. I have most of the other parts. Thanks, Eric Cactusjack Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #16 on: September 22, 2006, 04:19:24 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I pretty much did the same thing. First, I bought a "Shelf Assy" from what appears to have been a really old 19" Upright. Bought a 3802 board and tray, found a Shelf I/O tray missing the cabinet I/O. Bought a Door I/O for cheap. Got a surplus +24V, +12V power supply, made the necessary AC line monitor (Opto coupler being feed by low voltage AC). Found a NETPLEX touch Screen controller to replace the RS232 type on the Tataung LCD touchscreen I bought. Did some wire harness adapting. And what do you know, A Game King Touch Screen! If all goes well, I will finish the mounting into an S+ slot Slant top. Pictures to follow. Good Luck. I think it might be a bit difficult to find anything but older Game King parts. Casinos are still using them and IGT still supports the platform. But, you never know. Something always turns up CJ Forrhouse Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #17 on: September 24, 2006, 12:35:49 AM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Could you tell me what the Part number is for the NETPLEX touch Screen controller that you have? You should put that date on the NLG calendar as the birth of FrankenKing! We can celebrate with a Party a year from last Saturday night! I guess that I am on a birthday kick currently, or I just need to party or something??? I forgot to ask you when we talked on Friday if you still want the WBA setup that I mentioned, but I still need to reprogram the head as I have not got to play with the Multi unit DL Programming tool yet. It could be a Birth Present for FrankenKing, although I am not sure if you want to perform surgery on your new baby quite yet! Has the Wife claimed it as hers yet?? Do you have to fight for visitation rights??? Have a good day! Captainhappy Cactusjack Re: GameKing questions? « Reply #21 on: September 25, 2006, 03:10:51 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well... The king sits right between an Upright PE+ and a Slant Top PE+. It just depends who's butt is in the chair. I know she likes the touch screen games over buttons (likes to run her finger across the cards when you hold consecutive ones). For me, its almost easier to push the buttons instead (less motion required for these aging bones). But the Screen makes for a REALLY LARGE BUTTON! I find myself Holding with the Touch Screen and Dealing with the Panel button. Over all, I should have a pretty good line up of games. While the "King" will have most of the standard Bonus pokers, I will have to re-adjust my library in the other two (both running Add on Memory boards) to make sure We have ALL bases covered. Like Jay mentioned, one game we don't have yet is the Black Jack Bonus poker. I also don't have any of the Ace's And Faces Series but I think those are all Single Games only (can't run on Mem board). Has anyone Ever lined up the ACE$ in ACE$ bonus poker? Seems hard enough to get just 4 aces (even though I did it on Friday night on a Bonus Poker) but to get the 4 ACES in alignment in 4 of the 5 Card positions seems like it should be worth MORE than the Royal Flush. There is a paper sticker with IGT P/N 75431200. There is a celophane sticker with Ver 2.9. Sorry, didn't get a photo this morning. Running late. Title: Re: Game King Questions Post by: knagl on August 18, 2009, 10:57:25 PM "B" should be the bill validator box. Make sure that the cash can is seated firmly and that the door is closed and latched. There is a micro-switch in the housing for the cash can that must be closed by the lock cam on the door. It's possible that the wires for that switch are broken too, but check to make sure the switch is actually getting closed first.
Title: Re: Game King Questions Post by: biglawz on August 18, 2009, 11:25:37 PM i will check for the broken wires, but just sayin the other problem the machine doesnt have the bill collector in it, the machine just takes coins the bill collector was removed long time wen purchased, the acual question should be where is the the wires located for the bill collector in order for me to check to see if they are broken? or what else could cause it to go off?
Title: Re: Game King Questions Post by: knagl on August 19, 2009, 12:52:07 AM I'm not in front of my machine at the moment, but I'd start by looking for any wires that have been electrical-taped together near the lower-right part of the inside of the cabinet that perhaps came undone, as the bill stacker is normally located on the lower right side of the cabinet, below the opening for dollar bills.
Title: Re: Game King Questions Post by: Buzz on August 19, 2009, 02:34:26 AM Remove the cash can, inside lower right side you will see a small plate that has a micro switch on the back side of it, remove the small nut ( 7/32 ) at the top and switch will come out, There is two wires going to the switch, move the center one to the outside spade connection. now the machine will think the cash door is locked all the time. OR you can CUT the two wires and splice them togeather, will do the same job, I just don't like cutting wires !!
