Title: Mystery Cable/Harness
Post by: CVslots on August 29, 2012, 01:00:42 AM
Can someone tell me what this is? The 2 doo-dads on the end are grey and blue, which correspond with the 2 holes in the front of an S2000 board, but then what? So, i have doo-dads and holes to plug them into, but dont have a clue as to what happens after that... :206- :206-

My guess is Casino Data or Player Tracking?   :103-

in the picture posted by CVSlots, I see there are actually 2 cables there
One is definitely a fiber optic cable, Casino and smart IT network admin and net security pros like it because it is very secure compared to twisted pair
the only thing is it does get expensive for most office networks and usually used for Server to network closet connections and to internet provider connections and the internet backbone uses fiber
It is not easiest thing to tap into, you have to know how to tap into it, and usually you have to tap into two cables just to get one nodes data
The fiber network used for Game machines is slow compared to what is used for computer networks
slot/game most likely 1Mb or less in speed compared to 1000Mb+ for most fiber based computer networks

I am sorry but i just do not see any fiber there all those connections just look like wires, typically each fiber connection would only have one fiber per connector
