Title: Troubleshooting 11's 12's and 13's
Post by: Abe Frohman on September 02, 2012, 09:05:07 PM
Hello all,

I purchased a truckload of "parts complete" Bally and IGT slots.  About half of them came with bill validators.  I have ten Bally ProSlot 6000's and out of all the bill validators, only *one* worked with the 6000's.  I've probably put every validator into every unit, and all the same result - one works in all the Bally's, the rest do not.  It's a 13 and it has a label on a ROM underneath showing a program revision.

The rest are composed of two 13's which seem to be missing the ROM, and then a small pile of WBA 12's which, I'm assuming, have the wrong programming on them and need to be flashed.  Is that probably what I've got here, would you think?  A bunch of 12's that probably just have the wrong programming?  They spin and whirr on power-up but the do-not-enter light goes on shortly after the green arrows and it won't even taste a bill to see if it likes it.

I suppose I might have to ship the whole lot of 'em to someone who can clean these up for me or something.  I was hoping out of the twenty-some units I was going to have enough parts to tell the good from the bad, but I ended up with two IGT's and only one Bally working, which doesn't really help me troubleshoot all that much.

Thanks for any guidance...
