 Hope this might be the right section to post this question; I got this Bally video poker machine about a year ago and have searched for some information but come up short.  What I think I have found is it is a Maverick model, made in the 90’s sometime and sat in a warehouse for years for some unknown reason before they started filtering out to the market.  There was a listing on E bay for replacement batteries some time back and had what information  I just explained, but that’s about all. Anybody know any more on these machines. My machine is in great shape, I  don’t think it has seen any casino action, but it wouldn’t hurt to start getting some information if something does need attention in the future.
Any help is appreciated .

It looks like a 5000 or 5500 video poker machine. I've never seen one but I know they made VP machines around the same time that the 5000 and 5500 reel slots were made. Thats about a far as I can get you though (I know thats not very far) but hopefully someone else will be able to jump in and help you with more info. I had a bally 5000 as my first slot but sold it a couple years ago. I'd guess it'll eat batteries like the slots did from that time frame.

Its a good looking machine for its age though.

I agree, but a picture of the inside and the CPU pulled from the machine would confirm.

 I read your request late tonight I will post some inside pics tomarrow. Might have to walk me Thur removing the CPU. I have never had to touch the insides except for hopper removal.

  What a couple days at work I didn't get any time to take pics of my machine, but I did manage to search the site and I found this information. Pardon my attempt to insert quote and pics, it didn't work for me from one post to another. I will have to practice later.

This is exactly the same machine. Sounds like others are having trouble finding much information on these machines
   And a reply from AZGAMINGSLOTS, 6/5/12 was .... this is a bally maverick,  they were custom made back in the early 90s
what kind of a manual are you looking for?  most i have ever seen on these is a 30 page or so set up manual. -not too much help.
to get to /change options, clear off credits, open door and turn jackpot reset key. all options are in menu, too change some options requires
u-39 clear chip.

Anyone out their know more about these machine or histiory would sure help, and thanks again for the help  :284-

A few years back I did see alot of these advertised for sale.
All of them were new and never installed in casinos. Kinda makes me believe they never passed approval for the casino floor.

I tend to agree with Neon.  My memory, whats left of it,  recalls there was a large group of these Bally Video's sitting in storage (in the SouthWest U.S.) due to a "legal" issue.  (we're talking  10+ + yrs ago) 

If the machine looks "like new"  ...clean interior, exterior, nice chrome,  minimal  or no burn-in on the monitor....  it may have came from that  "group".   ...or not....

its a bally maverick -about 1000 were manufactured around 1992 for a casino in new orleans that never opened due to corrupted politicians.
they sat in a warehouse (the machines -not the politicians) in the southwest until early 2000's then they were all dumped on the market.  brand spankin new with new ceronix, wells gardner or samsung monitors,  these 3-game poker machines go by the name: LGM, CAJUN, BALIGATOR, BAYOU, MAVERICK, MARDI GRAS, ETC,  available with hopper or ticket printer. they all use the same cpu locked in a metal box, the cpu looks the same, however hopper model uses different chips than ticket printer model.  they use a disposable static ram chip -backed up with internal lithium battery, use a 256k chip to clear the ram. when the ram corrupts (usually from internal static ram chip dying) the meters click and gibberish appears on screen. i had several dozen go through my shop, and was hired to set up a bunch of them for a shop in tempe.  most never gave me any problems, some corrupt rams, bad monitors and a few bad circuit breakers, but never had to scrap any. they were a nice trouble free machine -however the payout was horrible, and the max bet was 8 coin wtf?. they were equipped to have a side mount mars bill validator installed as well.

Thanks for the information on these machines. I was searching the internet and found some more interesting information on these machines. I tried to add a link to the  article, but was unsuccessful so I attached it in a pdf format. Not knowig that maybe I should have not mentioned the particular article and copied it into a PDF format to post. I am trying to modify this post and remove the attachment, not to get anyone in trouble. I found that LGM stands for Lousianna Gaming Management a subsidiary of International Gaming Management back then . What I didn't catch in these  posts are these V5000 V5500 or custom made VLT's (Video Lottery Terminal).
