Well the older the system the fewer options your going to have.

and do they also work on newer platform, like i said i know nothing but would like to get something that works with newr and older games if possible

You can run Super JP Party and Thai on NXT or BB1 but not any Hot Hot Penny without the Extra Bet Button, so best to get a BB 1 Cabinet with or without the Extra Bet Button as you can always add it for Hot Hot Penny Games or Newer Games like Zeus II   

The BB 1 would be best for the games you mentioned as if you go to a BB2 CPU you won't be able to run older games without getting a BB1 CPU

BB1 CPU runs SSOS and many SSSG Operating Systems (Thai and Sup JP use SSOS OS)

BB2 CPU only runs SSSG and newer Operating Systems

You can always buy both CPU's and use in a BB1 Single Screen Cabinet then you would be able to use games like Airplane and JP Block Party (true BB2 Games)

You would need a BB2 Widescreen to run newer games like Dean Martin Vegas Shindig or say Vampires Embrace but the BB1 can run so many games you won't be disappointed
